Iconic Emmy Winner Robert Hooks is a diverse actor and producer known for Television, Motion Picture and the Stage. He was the 1st African American lead on a television drama, the original N.Y.P.D. and has appeared in over 100 roles. He has starred in the motion picture, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, where he played Fleet Admiral Harry Morrow. He gave an unprecedented performance in the acclaimed Hurry Sundown directed by Otto Preminger, and was powerful as Mr. T. in the Blaxploitation film Trouble Man. Robert co- starred alongside Wesley Snipes, Elisabeth Hurley and Tom Sizemore in Passenger 57 directed by his son, Kevin Hooks. He has received both the Pioneer Award and the NAACP Image Award for Lifetime Achievement, and has been inducted into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame. He also won an Emmy for his PBS special Voices of Our People. The success of his work resonates throughout the Entertainment Industry and many that have “made it” are standing on his shoulders.
