In this new episode, mindset and performance coach Abraham Heisler speaks with David O'Leary, Creator and Executive Producer of the TV drama series Project Blue Book. We listen in to his journey from being a teacher to slugging it out in Hollywood and creating a TV series that has been played in the United States and all over the world.

✔️ Starting as a test prep company tutor, becoming an assistant three times at different production companies and studios, and becoming an executive at three other places in his late 20s made David realize that he wasn't living an authentic life.

✔️ To pursue your creative passion, commit to the beginning and then and starting small. David dreamed of being a screenwriter, so he worked on his craft, developed it, put it into practice, and took those little steps to put himself forward. Eventually he started attracting some great opportunities.

✔️ Sometimes the "bad pitch" we have in life ends up as the most brilliant ideas. Let go of high-pressure expectations and allow yourself to be and do what you genuinely want to do.

✔️ Understand that you've got to go through the process of facing a bunch of failures. Focus on the process rather than the outcome, and you may probably do your best work yet.

✔️ What keeps your fascination and interests may be the direction that will allow you to explore that in a very public way and take thousands, even millions of people on that journey with you, like what David was able to do.

David O'Leary is the Creator and Executive Producer of the TV drama series Project Blue Book starring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), which is also Executive Produced by Oscar-winner Robert Zemeckis. Project Blue Book ran for two seasons on HISTORY and was the #1 new cable drama series of the 2018/2019 TV season in total viewers. It has aired in over 165 countries, and the series now streams its 20 episodes as part of new programming featured on NBC's Peacock, IMDbTV, and Amazon Prime, and is available for purchase on most platforms.

O'Leary also recently served as a co-producer on the Netflix supernatural hit film Eli (2019) and the sci-fi thriller feature Parallel, which Vertical Entertainment released in December 2020. Up next, O'Leary's been hired to adapt a Swedish crime TV series with Zero Gravity (Ozark) producing, and John Coles (The Sinner, House of Cards, Homeland) directing. A New York City native, O'Leary is repped by Paradigm, Zero Gravity, and Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, et al. and currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
