As we mentioned last time, it’s often said that we shouldn’t talk about money, politics, and religion in polite society. Well, we’re going to throw one more taboo topic into the mix: Sex.
In part two of our season finale, we continue our chat with repeat guest, self-relationship coach and IFS practitioner J. Stamatelos. In this part of our conversation, we dive into a topic that has both fascinated and confounded humanity for millennia: the complex intersection between religion and sexuality.
It’s an important discussion, because the way religion perceives and regulates sex has real-world consequences—whether that's related to gender roles, reproductive rights, or sexual education. The teachings and traditions we grow up with can deeply impact our self-esteem, relationships, and even our mental health. And although we’re speaking from inside our religious experience, this of course goes beyond just one religion or one cultural context.
