On January 15, 1947, the mutilated and bisected corpse of “Jane Doe #1” was found in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Known posthumously as “The Black Dahlia,” Elizabeth Short’s brief life has intrigued many. The gruesome nature of the crime and the enigmatic details surrounding it captured immense public attention. After the discovery of her body, the LAPD began an extensive investigation to find out the sordid details of Elizabeth’s life and murder.
