Something that is a common thread for basketball junkies is an unconditional love for the game. Mike Procopio turned his love of the game into a career. His passion for basketball enabled him to learn, establish a philosophy and found a purpose as a coach. Thanks to his upbringing in Boston, his approach as truth teller became his calling card. For some, it’s blunt and it’s brash, but great players love to be pushed knowing that it makes them that much better.

While it might be old school, the proof is in Mike’s long list of success stories. From greats like Kobe Bryant to the grinders just trying to find life as pro, his no nonsense style led to greatness. Still, pushing players can backfire in situations where it goes too far. As Drew points out to Mike, the game has definitely changed in terms of coaching styles, but sometimes it’s needed to get a player’s best.
