We had the privilege of meeting our next guest, Jo Leavitt, at the Stratford branch of the Missouri library in Springfield. Jo was originally born in Oregon, but when she was around 5 to 12 years old, her parents moved to California. Unfortunately, her parents eventually divorced, and her mother remarried someone Jo describes as a "real jack wagon." Jo's mother was so infatuated with her new husband that she signed Jo into foster care when she was just 14 years old, abandoning her for a boyfriend.
Now, Jo is the General Manager at a local sports complex and a life coach who has a deep passion for helping others. As you listen to her story unfold through the jar, you'll witness her journey of growth, learning, and overcoming tremendous challenges. Her experiences have granted her the credibility to connect with others on a profound level, offering understanding and guidance.
In addition to her coaching work, Jo is also passionate about her and her husband's lifestyle as swingers, which they have embraced for the past 18 years. She speaks passionately about the benefits this lifestyle brings, including increased confidence and personal growth. In fact, Jo even hosts a podcast dedicated to exploring and discussing this intriguing aspect of her life.
During our conversation, Jo shares about her relationship with her husband and how it has provided her with a sense of home and strength after the turbulent experiences she went through earlier in life. She cherishes the deep connection they have forged and the love they share, along with the four boys they have welcomed into their lives. Jo is in a place of great contentment, but we also delve into a powerful discussion about her reconciliation with her mother. While the timing and possibility of such reconciliation remain uncertain, it is clear that Jo is on a path towards healing and closure. Join Jo as she navigates through The Jar, uncovering her own healing, and embracing the transformative power of her journey.
