In this episode, I talk about the stages of grief…what they are, where they came from and why you can ignore them.

The 5 stages of grief have become nothing more than a cultural cliché used to describe political and sports losses, and bear little resemblance to the real experiences of people who are grieving.

Though they were revolutionary when first published by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in 1969, they only describe 5 possible experiences out of hundreds and thousands of others grieving people may experience…and there is certainly nothing linear about them.
