Rock Bottom Syndicate Podcast

Feb 5 2020 • 38 mins

“Syndicate” is a group of individuals or organizations combined to promote some common interest. Our common interest at Rock Bottom Syndicate is to be of service.

Rock Bottom Syndicate is my community of friends who, after having hit rock bottom, discovered that being of service to help others has a surprising side effect. We get better. We make better decisions. We learn to live strong, joyous lives.

----------

Rock Bottom Syndicate is about people who have a story to tell to inspire others to keep working toward their potential no matter what happens.

Rock Bottom is an opportunity to learn, pivot and adapt to whatever life throws your way.

Rock Bottom is a time where you can choose to take responsibility for everything in your life because when you take responsibility you gain control to change things for yourself.

Your secrets are the prison of your emotions. Telling your story will set you free to be yourself, to heal, grow as a person and move on to enjoy the journey of a strong, joyous life.

Ask for help. Tell your story.

My guest in this episode 18 of Rock Bottom Syndicate is Becky Erkkila, Hospice Nurse, mother of 10, wife and author of "What Shall I Do?" We discuss her experiences of living with domestic violence and what she learned about herself and about being a victim of domestic violence. Becky's life today is devoted to helping others experiencing domestic violence and abuse recognize the signs, break the cycle and go on to live strong, joyous lives.

About Becky Erkkila

Becky Erkkila was born and raised in Southern Idaho and Northern Utah. She is now married to a wonderful man and is a mother of ten. Her family is her life and her first priority. She also finds joy in her work as a hospice nurse. Helping her patients and their families during the final moments of their lives is very sacred to her.

Becky has spent countless hours speaking to groups about domestic violence. Trying to give strength and comfort to those in the situation and bring awareness to those who can help.

Her book was truly a labor of love for others as she recalled the very difficult events and those emotions in hopes her experiences would help others.
