Walking Away from Silicon Valley Success to Walking On the Path of Service, Authenticity, and Dharma with Tiffany Liu & Tim Sae Koo

The Awakened Leader | Transformative Stories With Plant Medicine by 1heart

Dec 7 2022 • 57 mins

Tiffany Liu is on a path of alignment and enlightenment. Her ayahuasca experience with 1heart supported her in ditching the Silicon Valley success recipe for a life of depth, service, and surrender. This episode is packed with wisdom, introspective questions we can ask ourselves, and advice to those who find themselves walking an untraditional path.

In our second episode, our Chief Om Officer, Tim Sae Koo, interviews Tiffany Liu from Journey 2. Tiffany is a transformation consultant and the founder of Soul Seated Journey, a 501(c)(3) youth development nonprofit delivering holistic, evidence-based, whole-child wellness programs to help resilient youth in underserved communities develop the skills, capabilities, and strategies to rise up and soar. As an immigrant and suicide-attempt survivor in her teens, Tiffany's nonprofit work is rooted in her commitment to social equity and ensuring all young people have access to opportunities that unlocks their passion, power, and potential. She has been recognized as an executive specializing in large-scale cross-functional and cross-sector collaboration and coordination, engagement and planning, organizational change management, strategic advisory, and leadership development. Some of Tiffany's transformation work includes emerging market innovation at LegalZoom, global workforce restructuring, worldwide portfolio management, and cultural turnaround at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. And as an entrepreneur, she’s co-founded an EdTech startup funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, later acquired by InsideTrack.

In this conversation, Tiffany & Tim talk about:

* Why she chose to step away as successful VP in unicorn/publicly listed companies into a steward in her non-profit organization

* Her most powerful takeaways from her ayahuasca ceremonies and how they reminded her of her dharma path

* How she redefines success as a recovering Type A entrepreneur

* Advice she gives to those who feel the call to walk a non-conformist path of service

* And so much more…

DISCLAIMER: In sharing stories from leaders who have used plant medicine, including ayahuasca, to elevate their lives, we are not recommending it to you or suggesting that it will have the same results. Each individual will react differently to the medicine, which can be largely shaped by the set and setting of your experience as well as your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state prior to joining. If you're interested in this or a similar experience, we recommend you do your own research and speak to others who have done it so you can best determine if it is a good fit for you at this time. Should you decide to do so, we strongly suggest doing so with great reverence and respect for the medicine and the powerful effects it can create in your life. We also recommend anyone working with this medicine spend time preparing themselves before their ceremony(s) and have resources lined up to support them in their integration post-ceremony(s).

Also, it is important to note that the plants and compounds mentioned in this post are still illegal in many countries, and even possession can carry severe criminal penalties. None of this post constitutes medical advice or should be construed as a recommendation to use psychedelics. There are serious legal, psychological, and physical risks. Psychedelics are not for everyone—they can exacerbate certain emotional problems, and there have been, in very rare cases, fatalities.
