Chick Chat Collective

Aug 16 2023 • 43 mins

In this episode, Kacey and Suzanne discuss the importance of talking about grief and loss and the need for more understanding and support for those going through it. Suzanne shares her experience of grieving the loss of her son, Ben, three years ago and how she learned to process grief by necessity after his death. She emphasizes the need to talk to others about their experiences to build a foundation for understanding. Kacey shares her personal experience of her grandfather's death and the difficulty in talking about it due to a culture where people don't talk about emotions. Suzanne suggests that people should talk about their emotions in safe places such as a support group to help process their grief. They also discuss the high divorce rate among parents who have lost a child, emphasizing that each person's grieving process is unique, the importance of taking baby steps, and focusing on everyday decisions to build momentum.
