It's not always easy doing anything alone. That is why I always stand for doing what's right and helping others. I'm an advocate and I allow my voice to be heard. Sometimes, I may even rock the boat in the process. In the end, I know it is worth it. It is always good to have someone in your corner that can fight along with you. You are not alone! We are meant to do life together. We are a community and we stand with each other.

Jerry Green is the Black Student Advocate. He is a voice in his community and is making noise around the country looking to expand his organization so that more students would have representation in the school system.  Often, decisions are made before parents enter the room and aren't even given an opportunity to plead their child(ren) case-that's not fair.  Mr. Green isn't giving up on our students, but he isn't giving in to wrong-doing either. He works the system and does it without bias. He will let students and parents know when they are in the wrong. It is better to correct bad behavior now than later. Mr. Green shared so much insight on how he got started as an advocate and how we we can become a voice for someone else. It's a great conversation and worth listening to.
