Today’s interview is with Lucy Santana who is CEO at Girls Inc. of Orange County, CA; but Lucy wasn’t always an obvious leader. She started life as the “shy and timid” youngest girl of seven siblings, raised in Santa Ana, CA by parents who were Mexican immigrants. You’ll be inspired by her story of finding her voice and becoming a passionate advocate for girls!

Lucy and her team directly impact 4,500+ girls in southern California each year, with transformative programs designed to take these girls from economically disadvantaged circumstances to becoming “strong, smart and bold.” Her laser focus for 2022 and going forward is Project Accelerate, part of a national Girls Inc. program aimed at expanding the power and influence of women in the United States by 2030.

The program - which Lucy helped to create, addresses inequality in the workplace, particularly the absence of women of color in positions of influence and leadership.
