66. Tempered Adversity, Rosie Mankes

People More Interesting Than Me

Feb 4 2024 • 43 mins

Our guest this week, Rosie Mankes, had a thriving career in ad sales, working with some of the largest publishing houses and non-profit organizations. From the outside, her life seemed picture-perfect – a loving husband, two beautiful sons, and a successful career.

In 2008, at the age of 44, Rosie was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer. In 2015, she faced an early  breast cancer diagnosis, leading to a double mastectomy. In the same year Rosie had to move her mother to assisted living due to her dementia.  The year reached its peak of heartbreak when her healthy 58-year-old brother tragically passed away in a horrific accident.

Today, Rosie Mankes joins us to share her story – a story of resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative power of embracing one's authentic self.
