Olga Korbut was the sensation of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.  Through her innovation on the uneven bars, she elevated women's gymnastics to new heights in popularity and inspired millions to become gymnasts.  Without her groundbreaking work, there are no X-Games and other forms of artistic athletic expression that we see today.
