West Coast Radio spends episode #64 discussing Bobby Bostic and his campaign for freedom. Bobby Bostic was just 16 years old in 1995 when he committed two robberies where thankfully no serious injuries occurred. Still, Bobby Bostic was sentenced to 241 years in prison by Judge Eveyln Baker with no opportunity for parole until Bobby turns 112 years old.
"If I knew then what I know now... I wouldn't have given him 241 years. But I didn't know then what I know now. When I sentenced Bobby, we had no knowledge of brain development... He was still a child. His brain had another 10 or more years to go before it was fully developed. I treated a 16 year old child like a 36 year old man and I say that is wrong." - Judge Evelyn Baker almost 25 years after sentencing Bobby Bostic
To share Bobby's story we are joined by Damien Linnane all the way from Sydney, Australia.
