Surprisingly, the answer is yes. They are rewriting the Bible, but don't believe the rumors. They are not replacing Jesus with Mao or Colonel Sanders or anyone else. It's much more subtle than that. What they want to do is rewrite the Bible so that it conforms with the Chinese Communist Party's agenda. In essence, they want a Bible with Chinese characteristics that will help all the Christians in China become better socialists and patriots.
