The bubonic plague, caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis, has plagued humanity for centuries, leaving a lasting mark on history. Although commonly associated with medieval times, the bubonic plague continues to persist in various parts of the world, In 2020, California reported its first incidence of plague in five years. Officials stated at the time that the patient, a South Lake Tahoe resident, was healing at home. In Colorado in 2015, two fatal cases were reported. And now Oregon?. Not to mention the alaska-pox that just broke out.

Back in September 2005, there was an incident reported, There was a big investigation going on in New Jersey! So, The research lab, located at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, is operated by the Public Health Research Institute, a center for infectious disease research.They did research on some mice that were carrying a really dangerous disease called the plague that have gone missing. One scientist from Rutgers University even said that this disease, the plague, is really bad. Scary stuff, right? fast forward to 2024. WOW!
