im "Laser" Starr is an American athlete, actor and producer. Under the stage name Laser, he was the team captain of the American Gladiators. He was also the longest running Gladiator, appearing on the show from 1989 to 1996.

Jim was born in Great Falls, Monstana. He played football in high school as well as Montana State University. He was an all state running back and holds the MSU single game record for tackles. He was drafted to the NFL and played football as a replacement player in 1987. A career ending injury ended his football aspirations.

In 1989 he was selected to appear on the American TV series, American Gladiators. He remained on the show for the entirety of it's original run. In the year 2000 he entered the corporate world with Apex Fitness and has had a successful post television career in the fitness industry.
