S3:E2 - Fabio Vighi & Global Economics

Post-Orthodoxy

Jan 16 2022 • 1 hr 52 mins

Professor Fabio Vighi teaches Critical Theory and Film at Cardiff University, UK.   Among his recent books are "Unworkable: Delusions of an Imploding Civilisation" (SUNY press, 2022) and "Critical Theory and the Crisis of Contemporary Capitalism" (Bloomsbury 2015, with Heiko Feldner). He has written extensively on the interconnections between the pandemic and the global economy.   "My current research projects tackle capitalist crisis from a psychoanalytic perspective, focusing on Jacques Lacan's notion of discourse as social bond." . “An Outpost in the Borderlands,” Post-Orthodoxy explores the liminal spaces around changing our minds, and blazes trails into the wilds of what’s possible. Dark and Ainsley Sevier bring their experience as escapees from religious cults to diagnose cultish behaviors in society at large, and to share experiences with other social extremophiles.
