Being a publicist is a demanding job that often goes without receiving gratitude. Couple that with running a business and being an avid philanthropist, and you have all the workings of today’s workaholic guest! Kerrin Black is a South African-born Serial Entrepreneur, International Publicist, Philanthropist, and the Founder of Talent Finders – a platform that connects entertainment talent with talent seekers – and Faces of Hope, a foundation that serves those affected by interpersonal violence. Kerrin begins our conversation by describing the moments that led to the revelation that entrepreneurship is her calling, the ins and outs of her childhood in South Africa, why she chose to start a non-profit organization, and other businesses that she’s worked with in the interest of serving her passion of assisting those in need. Our guest then walks us through how she became a publicist and how she remarkably landed an interview with Forbes (and other big publications) for her very first client! Kerrin is always on the move and astonishingly, is also the host of a podcast, Chat with Black, and she explains why starting a podcast was more for others than herself before giving some important advice to aspiring entrepreneurs who may be lacking resources. As always, we end with our Furious Five questions and learn why Kerrin would always choose the Moon over Mars.
