This will be the first in-person Pride since the pandemic began. While many LGBTQ+ people are ready to celebrate, some Pride organizations in large cities were heavily criticized for being too cozy with corporations and police. In addition, as anti-LGBTQ legislation continues to grow nationwide, some activists say Pride needs to return to its uprising roots. In our first episode of It’s OK to Say Gay, host Femi Redwood and contributor Anddy Egan-Thorpe explore the future of Pride and whether it should be party or protest.
