Today marks year seven since my Momma, Bishop Gwendolyn P. Mack took her rest.

And this episode is a special one-hour podcast episode with my dear friend, O.G. McClinton III who lost his beloved mother, Sister Sharon Harley in 2022. I’m thankful to O.G. for sharing his story because his mother’s passing is still so new. It’s still his year of firsts.

In the show, we talk about the lack of care our mothers received as Black women, how the healthcare system and hospice failed us and our mothers, and what we hope for moving forward.

About O.G. McClinton, III

A California native and a product of Compton, CA, now calls Glenarden, MD home.

Growing up in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P.A.W.) he served as a praise and worship leader and choir director before pastoring Joy City Church for seven years.

He worked in entertainment appearing in sitcoms, television commercials, and music videos, and toured with En Vogue.

After graduating from Cal State Northridge with a degree in African American Studies, he has worked for the LAUSD as a Special Education assistant teacher and now works as a principal trainer in the Healthcare IT industry currently working for IBM Consulting.
