Traveling Without Moving
People who engage with Guided Imagery and Music (GIM), a type of music therapy,  are called "travelers" because the process takes them on a powerful journey through their own psyche. GIM is one of the modalities today's guest, Jennifer Worthen, uses in her counseling practice. Music is one of the first ways she awakened to the healing power of non-ordinary states of consciousness. Jen has also apprenticed in indigenous spiritual healing traditions and has been traveling on her own spiritual journey her entire life. Jen holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Radford University, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Carolina University. She’s a Music Therapist and a Fellow with the Association of Music and Imagery. Jen has been working passionately in the healing arts in some capacity for over 20 years. She currently operates a small private practice where she weaves together her various interests, training, and experiences to bring emotional and spiritual healing to others.During this conversation, Jen shares a bit about her personal journey. She explains what GIM is and what to expect from a session. She mentions her experience with plant medicines such as san pedro and ayahuasca.Mentioned in this episode:Association for Music & ImageryPachelbel Canon--the piece of music Jen remembered from Adina's GIM session.Fur Elise--the piece of music that was in Adina's grandmother's music boxVisit Adina's website to find out more about her workFollow Fire Bird Creative on Instagram

Connecting the Dots: A Conversation About Innovation and Creativity
In this episode Adina chats with Ideation Coach and Consultant, Tye Glover.  Tye is the founder of Think Different Nation and the creator of Neuro Creative Programming. During their talk, Tye described a method of problem solving that engages mindfulness and teaches how to notice perceptions and welcome new perspectives. If you're curious about creating new ways to address challenges,  if you struggle with self worth or realizing your potential, if you'd like to explore ways to overcome creative blocks or if you simply love to learn, you'll enjoy hearing about Tye's method.Think Different Nation introduces a fresh perspective on discovering one's Competitive Advantage through the methodology of Thinking In Scale and Relaxing. Unlike conventional entrepreneurial coaching focused on positive thinking and faith, Tye's approach delves deeper into uncovering innate strengths and tendencies.Tye's journey began at age 5 with a pivotal test, the significance of which became apparent a decade later. Despite achieving success in various Fortune 100 companies and receiving accolades for his innovative ideas, he struggled with feelings of impostor syndrome until he recognized his natural inclination for ideation and creation—the "Instinctive Advantage." This innate ability, often dismissed as a disorder, became his superpower. By honing his tendency for persistent focus and fixation, Tye transformed perceived disorder into order, paving the way for hissuccess. In the words of Steve Jobs, "You can't connect the dots by looking forward." NCP provides insights into this process, helping individuals consciously and subconsciously extract meaningful details from their experiences to fuel their ideas.Tye's website: Think Different NationInstagram: Think Different NationVisit Adina's website to find out more about her workFollow Fire Bird Creative on Instagram
