Prison guards asked the courts to spare Brian Dorsey's life, but the 52-year-old Missouri man was still put to death after the U.S. Supreme Court decline to grant him clemency.

Dorsey was on death row for murdering his cousin and her husband with a shotgun in 2006, leaving their young daughter orphaned.
