With.... A Theory Interview, creating ambient / functional music, NFT’s, physics and Soulcalibur
In this episode Aaron speaks with long term collaborator Alex Preager who has been working with Aaron for their current musical output A Theory Of which is available on all streaming platforms. Aaron Horn and Alex Preager have worked together since meeting in their school art department in 1999. After attending art college together they were drawn together by the symbiotic relationship between art and music. Their obsession with metaphysical theories of reality and the quantum universe inform their audio-visual based series “A Theory”, with this EP its first incarnation. “ I felt a desire to explore music beyond the traditional song form, away from lyrics, absorbing sound. Itseems to be a natural progression for me, to alleviate the stress of songwriting, to find a direct line into the sounds and frequencies that are a part of us all without the need for words.." The visual side includes this beautiful 3D animation produced by Alex. The video for lead single ‘Six Compact Dimensions’ alludes to the structure of a Carbon particle, which has 6 electrons in its outer ring. It explores Aaron and Alex’s shared perspective that new worlds and spaces can be created and rendered from tonal harmonics and vibrational forms into cyber-physical spaces, creating entirely new landscapes and universes with the aim of giving the viewer an experience similar to Synesthesia. Aaron and Alex are also currently constructing a series of NFT’s, with the 1st being Breathe. It uses physics based theory to code movement and colour as a visual representation of a mathematical formula. The accompanying ambience based audio is designed to be used as a breathing exercise to bring balance to the mind and lower cortisol levels in the viewer
