Shopping for healthcare prices is becoming more common.   However, healthcare consumers that want to be proactive about managing their healthcare spending are finding it difficult if not impossible to “Shop For Healthcare Prices”. Unfortunately, consumers are not using the tools available. Two recent consumer surveys indicated that only about 10% of consumers use healthcare pricing tools. Why?  Because it is very difficult for the healthcare consumer to use and understand the tools.  Non-healthcare organizations like Amazon and other online retailers make it easy for the consumer to search for and buy goods and services. Most Healthcare organizations make it difficult for consumers to navigate their web sites and find prices.

The Team from Healthcare Consumer Navigator Center has developed this Podcast to show how healthcare consumers are healthcare prisoners. The Podcasts will identify the various healthcare prisons and provide consumers help to navigate out of the prison with practical advice. Healthcare has many myths and is very scary for the consumers.  Our goal is to help consumer to become more confidant when dealing with healthcare providers.  Gary Prala, Co Founder of Healthcare Consumer Navigator Center, will guide you through the maze and offer you advice and solutions.
