In this compelling episode of the Resilience in the Pews series, Christy sits down with her good friend and fellow Enneagram 8 friend,  Jessica Taylor to explore the theme "Your View Isn’t Their View", focusing on tackling anxiety and healing from church wounds.

As co-pastors, Jessica and her husband have turned their past church wounds into a mission of healing and understanding within their own ministry.

Jessica discusses the importance of loyalty—a trait deeply ingrained in her and something she values immensely in both personal and spiritual contexts. She shares insights into how this trait has influenced her life and leadership, and reflects on whether loyalty should hold as much importance for others as it does for her.

Through her journey, Jessica encountered significant challenges, including dealing with differing perspectives among close friends which led to deep wounds. She offers advice on navigating such emotionally charged situations, especially for those who, like her, have a high loyalty meter.

Additionally, Jessica recounts how her "challenger personality" played a role in both exacerbating and healing her past church wounds. She opens up about the anxiety this tension caused and the strategies she employed to cope with it.

In their current pastoral roles, Jessica and her husband are committed to not repeating the mistakes that led to their own spiritual injuries. They have implemented specific steps in their church leadership to foster a nurturing and inclusive community.

This episode is especially meaningful for anyone struggling to trust or find their place in a church community again. Jessica provides hopeful insights and practical steps for rebuilding trust and finding a supportive faith community. Tune in for a story of resilience, perspective, and the power of a healed heart to lead others toward healing.
