God’s Purpose (1): Our Destiny & Christ as Our Good Land
God created the universe for the sake of His purpose (Rev. 4:11), but as the believers in Christ, do we really understand what that purpose is? We should not think it is just to save us from eternal damnation, or that we would go to heaven. Rather, it is so much higher than that: God has predestined us to be conformed to the image of Christ so we would be His many brothers (Rom. 8:29, Eph. 1:5), and together become God’s eternal dwelling place! For this, we must enter into Christ and allow Him to be everything to us, just as God wanted the Children of Israel to enter into the Good Land so they could build up the temple as God’s Old Testament dwelling place.
