Stoicism and Persuasion – friend or foe?

I'm on a quest to marry stoic thinking and my knowledge of persuasion and hypnosis. Stoicism focusses on rational thinking and seeing the world as it truly is, persuasion assumes, that we can't really see reality and that we react not on our thoughts but on our feelings. Which one is right? Is there a way to practise stoic thinking and persuasion? My answer is clear: yes, there is.
