My best friend passed away unexpectedly this winter, and one of the things on my list to do for him some day was to re-mix his favorite set of mine. I would get embarrassed every time he told me it was his favorite because it was my first digital mix, and was pretty rough for my standards. I put things off for too long and he never got that re-mixed set.

We threw a big memorial party for him in our favorite space to dance, so I decided to finally do that set for him the right way. I mastered one of my old edits that I had wanted to be in the set all along but didnt used to have the tools to do it.

I played the set live for him and his closest friends, we danced, cried, and celebrated his incredibly colorful life.

It's so hard for me to say all of this but that's what all of our lives are. Theres a time to live and a time to die, you just go with it.

I wasn't able to accept he was gone until the last song of this set was played. It felt so good to get it all out.
