#105 When you just know it's time to take action
In this episode I am joined by Debbie Harrell as she shares her journey to making some significant changes in her life as a result of challenges she experienced, that led to her own transformation and growth.BIO: Debbie Harrell has spent the past 25 years raising her children and trying to be a good human, volunteering in her community & separating her garbage. She is a life-long learner and loves investigating and analyzing; often to a fault. She is especially interested in the way people live, stories of resiliency and finding opportunities in the obstacles. She loves problem-solving and excels at looking at challenges from unique angles and different perspectives. When she found herself unemployed in early 2020 due to covid, she decided it was time to do something she has always wanted to do…start her own business. The middle of a world-wide pandemic is the perfect time, right? It was obvious that there were huge shifts happening all around, and many people were feeling overwhelmed by all the uncertainty, so Debbie set out to find a way to help. She was fascinated by what the world was experiencing and was certain there was a way to take more of an active role in shaping what our future looked like. She founded the New World Normal as a way to help people who were feeling isolated and overwhelmed. New World Normal provides a soft space to explore and question our society's norms. Debbie has recently become a Certified Life Coach and loves helping her clients design a life of purpose and joy for the New World Normal. To connect with Debbie visit:www.debbieharrell.comwww.nwncollective.com www.thenewworldnorm.comTo learn more about The Chrysalis VIP Club click HERE! Support the showThank you for supporting the show! #104 When Repeatedly Dying Forces You To Overcome Your Own Roadblocks with Fred Rutman

#104 When Repeatedly Dying Forces You To Overcome Your Own Roadblocks with Fred Rutman
In todays episode I am joined by Fred Rutman, aka Repeatedly Dead Fred as he shares his story of overcoming his roadblocks following some serious health challenges.Freds Bio:I was a marketer/consultant, then went into academia as a college business prof. After acquiring my MBA, my weight ballooned to 340 pounds. The combination of my weight issues combined with years of playing hockey, rugby and football left me in perpetual pain – every joint in my body ached. I did all the CICO methods, tried a bariatric doctor and exercised my butt off, eventually getting down to about 280, where I plateaued. Until the summer of 2009 came crashing down on me and forced me onto permanent medical leave. Something was causing me to what we initially thought was pass out randomly. I was hospitalized numerous times and learned I was Type 2 diabetic. I was put on insulin and metformin. It turns I wasn’t simply passing out - My heart was stopping. I was clinically dead dozens of times. Each time my heart stopped, I collapsed, hit my head, sustaining multiple concussions. They eventually figured out I needed a pacemaker. Which was great. Until the infallible pacemaker failed in 2013. And 2018, with more complications in 2019 and 2020. In 2018, I learned about intermittent fasting. My life hasn’t been the same since. I attribute the large majority of my recovery to the healing powers of IF. I’ve reversed the T2 diabetes and many of its related issues. I’m down 10 pant sizes and about 80 lbs. Today, I spend most of my day talking to people about resiliency, overcoming adversity and living their best, healthy lives. To connect with Fred visit:LINKED IN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fredrutman/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/repeatedlydf/Support the showThank you for supporting the show! #103 Working Smarter In 2022 (Our 3rd of 4 feature episodes!)
In this episode I am joined by 2 more of our amazing listeners Jade and Sarah as we continue to explore the journey of working a bit smarter in your business to achieve your goals both in your business and your life.Meet Jade:Jade Redfern is a Clinical Psychologist, trauma-informed therapist, parent coach and mum of two. She throws herself into life and work with ambition, heart and soul.  Child development and the parent-child relationship have always been a special interest in her work. However, it was when Jade herself became a parent, with the challenges and obstacles that she has overcome, her passion for helping parents began.  Jade is a huge believer that the greatest gift a parent can give their child, is his or her own peace and happiness. So, by helping parents develop a greater self-awareness and understanding of how our own childhood shapes our parenting, together we can raise compassionate, confident children who thrive. Jade’s career highlights so far have been working at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Grenfell Trauma Service, helping parents and children from all walks of life heal their invisible wounds. Her passion has always been to help her clients find more calm, confidence and joy in their everyday life.  Outside of work, Jade enjoys being outdoors, ideally with the sun shining, spending time with family and friends. Her favourite tipple is a gin and tonic and she would always choose a starter over a pudding (but secretly wants both).  Links:  Free Download: How To Keep Cool, Calm And Connected During Your Child’s Emotional Storm:  https://www.subscribepage.com/childs-emotional-storm FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theconsciousparentgroupMeet Sarah:Growing up on a farm, animals have always been a large part of Sarah's life for as long as she remembers.Sarah later fell in love with Greyhounds and has re-homed several to date. Although deep chested to hold their large hearts, sadly many are nervous, and Sarah had to research and develop her canine skills to help one particular dog- Sophie. Sophie was a very nervous soul, who loved people but feared the world. In 2019, Sarah followed a passion and retrained as a dog groomer. Setting up her business with nervous dogs in mind, she chose to do dog grooming 'in-house' where her furry clients could be in the comfort of their own home. This approach enabled Sarah to work with the dogs in their familiar environments, working together with their owners to enable the dogs to have a positive experience. In doing so, building their confidence not only in the grooming environment but often in life in general. Sarah's focus is always on enabling the dogs to succeed.Sarah can often be found out in the woods with her dogs, exploring Scotland or tending to her pet sheep and chickens at home.Website: https://www.houndsathome.petOpt in link: https://subscribepage.io/nervous-dog-liveThank you for supporting the show!Support the showThank you for supporting the show! #92 You Are Stronger Than You Think with Tracey Montgomery
In this episode I am joined by Tracey Montgomery as she shares her journey of challenges and recovery, and finding an inner strength that she did not know existed. For the last 7 years Tracey Montgomery has been putting her life back together. Through personal experience Tracey has developed many strategies to support women in midlife. Tracey Montgomery has had a meandering path to lead to this point. Narcissist survivor, which left her and her daughter homeless and in debt at a time of life when the societal norm leads us to believe that we are all comfortable and ready to take life easier. Through Tracey Montgomery's own findings she has found that there are many women who are having difficulties at this time of life. Some talked about, others kept behind closed doors. Through study Tracey has found that up to 60% of women change their career path at this time of life due to misconceptions and unobtainable expectations. Tracey Montgomery wants to show women and their employers that, with a little consideration to this time of life women are still able to flourish in the career path of their choice. To connect with Tracey visit:LINKEDIN : https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracey-montgomery/ Support the showThank you for supporting the show!
