On this episode of the Come Play With Us Danny...It's our review of "The Black Phone".

Directed by Scott Derrickson, and written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, The Black Phone is an adaptation of the short story of the same name written by Joe Hill ( fun fact, that Stephen King's son).

The story is about an abducted teenager names Finney, played by Mason Thames, uses a mysterious telephone to communicate with the previous victims of his captor called The Grabber, played by Ethan Hawke.

The Black Phone is another great horror film by Derrickson, which captures the grime and dirtiness of the 1970s set piece. It's not all rainbows and unicorns in this story as the children in this movie endure lots of messed up stuff.

Ethan Hawke is great as the grabber and the child actors of this movie really do a great job, which is a nice change because sometime child actors are just godawful to watch, especially in horror films.

In movie news, the Hellraiser reboot comes out on Hulu in October and Saw X, SAW F'ING X (No we aren't celebrating it), comes out next year. are these NECESSARY films or another cash grab for movie studios. Listen in and find out!
