Michelle Porterfield - Stop Over Drinking Coach, Professional Mindset Mentor, Self Discovery

Stop Drinking and Create the Life You Love! Hey Sister! Do you find yourself saying, “I need to get control of my drinking?” Do you google “How to know if I’m drinking too much” or “Am I an alcoholic?” Feeling stressed most of the time? Is your health going downhill and it makes you feel like crap? Is your anxiety through the roof, so much that you wake up at 3am with your heart racing and thinking negative thoughts about yourself? You hide it well. Not many people know. You show up for work, you workout (sometimes), you walk around with a smile on your face for the world to see and meanwhile you think... I wish I was a better mom… I want to be a better person. What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just quit? Yet you still crave that next drink, feel like a failure, and sometimes you wonder who you’ve become. You are sick of this cycle with alcohol and you wish you could get your drinking under control. Girl, I see you and I get you! I’m Michelle Porterfield, a Stop Over Drinking and Transormational Results Coach. For so many years I experienced all of this. I was so afraid of what my life would look like alcohol-free. How would I have fun? What would I tell everyone? How would I travel without a drink in my hand? How would I handle stress? I got to a point where I was sick of being stuck. I had tried to stop drinking and I had failed too many times. I made the choice to choose something different – me. It wasn’t easy, it took surrender, daily awareness, new routines, getting honest with myself, and learning to actually feel my emotions instead of stuffing them down… oh…and lots of grace. Friend, it was so worth it. My life was truly transformed on the other side of drinking. And yours can be too. Here‘s the deal: Drinking less is just the first step! I believe that‘s why it can be scary. We know deep down there’s more. Once we see what’s underneath the alcohol, true freedom is found. I am here to help you do just that. So if you’re ready to get out of the daily cycle that leads you to drink, learn why you do the things you do and how to change them, calm your anxiety, cultivate healthy relationships, love and value yourself again, reignite your faith, and create a life of fulfillment. Then now is your time Sister! Let’s do this. 273 \\ Overcoming Discomfort to Reach Your Goal and Why it Feels so Hard.
Hey Sisters, I hope you're all doing well and finding moments of peace this week. Our discussion last episode about facing resistance really struck a chord with me, and I wanted to reach out personally to encourage you further. As I reflected on my own journey, I'm reminded of how much discomfort I avoided for so long by hiding from hard feelings and conversations. It was only by facing that discomfort head-on and learning to sit in it that I was able to grow. I know from experience how scary that can feel, but I also know the freedom and clarity on the other side. Please remember that you are so much more than any single behavior or action. One slip up does not define you or mean you've failed. Have compassion for yourself as you work through this process. And know that you don't have to do it alone - I'm here to support you every step of the way. If you find yourself avoiding or making excuses, don't beat yourself up. Just take a deep breath and commit to facing one small thing each day. Even tiny acts of courage add up over time. You've got this. I believe in you and can't wait to see how you blossom as you learn to feel fully. You are invited to join the full 6-week program for community support. I also offer one-on-one coaching for anyone struggling with alcohol who wants extra accountability. Ready to finally Stop Over Drinking and join the course? 269 \\ How do we overcome fear? Questions from the Stop Over Drinking Students.
Hi Sisters, Opening up about our deepest fears and doubts can be so challenging, yet so important for our personal growth. As we explored, fear often arises from past experiences that our minds hold onto for protection. But in the process, those fears can hold us back from our true potential and desires. It takes courage to face them, yet I know from my own journey that it's so worth it. I wanted to remind you of the F.E.A.R. process we discussed - Face, Embrace, Ask, Answer, Release. Taking small steps to face what's coming up for you physically and emotionally, without judgment, can help release the grip of fear over time. And remember - you don't have to do it alone. That's what this community is here for. If any part of our discussion resonated with you and you'd like someone to walk through the process with, I have some availability for 1:1 coaching sessions. Or feel free to share your thoughts in our Facebook group. However you choose to move forward, remember that you are so much stronger than any fear. I have faith that as we continue to face them together, our lights will only shine brighter. Love you, Michelle Are you ready to stop over drinking with support and accountability? 262 \\ Exploring Mom Guilt and Healing with Alysia Lyons.
Alysia and Michelle had a conversation about motherhood, the challenges it presents, and the guilt that many mothers experience. Michelle shared about the different stages of motherhood, the challenges of raising teenagers, and how a mother's values can contribute to feelings of guilt. Alysia proposed that guilt is a notification that a person is not aligned with their values, and she emphasized that sometimes guilt is warranted, and sometimes it is not, especially when past actions cannot be changed. Alysia and Michelle discussed the challenges of balancing work and family life. Alysia shared her experience of traveling for work and the conversations she has with her son about her absences. Both agreed on the importance of quality time with children rather than just quantity of time. They also emphasized the value of open communication with children and focusing on their feelings without judgment. Michelle and Alysia delved into the process of emotional healing and coping, with particular emphasis on childhood triggers. Alysia pointed out that these triggers often indicate a sense of feeling unsafe and highlighted the ongoing nature of the healing process. They both stressed the importance of personal growth and healing for parents, noting that it leads to more intuitive and loving parenting. Alysia shared her personal experience of noticing improvements in her reactions and discussed them with her son. 261 \\ New Year’s Resolutions. Are they Good or Bad? Right or Wrong?
Hey Sis, Happy New Year! Is it wise to make New Year's resolutions? Especially as it relates to stopping drinking. Is it possible to be so resolute and never do that thing again?  In this episode, I share several ideas with you to help you make choices, see if a resolution is right for you, and show you how the new me sees things differently than the old me and why that matters.  Now is your time Sister. Use code: YES2024 Ready to finally Stop Over Drinking and join the course? Click here:  https://setfreesisterhood.thrivecart.com/stop-over-drinking-roadmap/   Summary of key points: Michelle shares about shifting her perspective on New Year's resolutions to focus more on intentions, growth and flow rather than strict rules and pressure to be perfect. She discusses the importance of learning from experiences like slip ups rather than seeing them as failures. Exploring emotions and thoughts afterwards provides clarity. Adapting to changes in routine and environment is part of the journey, as life will present new circumstances to navigate without alcohol. Non-alcoholic drink options may help some people transition away from alcohol, rather than having a strict rule against them. Reading the Bible in a structured program like The Bible Recap can help build relationship with God by seeing it cinematically and getting daily video recaps. Michelle's intention for the new year is to know God more through exploring the Bible in this way. The Stop Over Drinking Roadmap course and community provide support for those wanting to quit drinking and learn more about themselves.
