I recently moved 2,000 miles to the town where my then boyfriend lived, only for the relationship to end soon after my arrival. This was partly due to the state of the relationship, and partly due to the fact that God specifically told me to back away and leave my man in His hands. On one hand, the breakup felt sudden and unexpected. Plus, how could I end things when my boyfriend was clearly not in a good place? But upon reflection, I realized that God never meant the relationship to be permanent, and that He was protecting my well-being by telling me that my role was finished.
