Leaving a Leadership Legacy Worth Remembering | Jann Freed, PhD | Ep. 25
Send us a Text Message. We're thrilled to share our conversation with Dr. Jan Freed, a beacon of wisdom in the realm of leadership. Dr. Freed, a keynote speaker, leadership expert, and author, is no stranger to the concept of legacy, bringing to the table her invaluable insights on a life lived with a lasting impact. We take a deep dive into her fascinating notion of 'Breadcrumb Legacy', dissecting how leaders can leave significant marks and foster a culture of wisdom, even amidst change and succession. In the episode, we explore the influence and impact that leaders can have on others even in the way they end a meeting or leave a room. We also get into the power of feedback loops, both in personal growth and organizational evolution. We take a hard look at the dangers of ego and fear-based leadership, the venom they inject into work cultures, and the essential role of self-responsibility in shifting legacies. Navigating change and grief is crucial in leadership today. We discuss the importance of metabolizing grief to foster resilience and collaboration. And finally, we delve into the qualities needed to foster trust and generosity in an organization, and how having an abundance mindset or servant leadership mindset can support the creation of a healthy culture. About Jann Freed, PhDApart from being a successful leadership consultant Dr. Jann is the author or co-author of five books. In her most recent book, Leading with Wisdom:  Sage Advice from 100 Experts, she interviews prominent leadership gurus such as Jim Autry, Marshall Goldsmith, Sally Helgeson, Dan Pink, and Margaret Wheatley. One of the book’s key insights: to be a powerful leader you must keep your ego in check. In other words, it’s hard to be a good leader if you’re not a good person. Healing Abusive Relationships, Culture & Self Talk | Amanda Kate | Ep. 23
Send us a Text Message. If you've been on a journey of personal transformation, you know that transformation is not a painless process... Doing the deep inner work can bring us to our knees. Breaking away from beliefs that no longer serve us can feel like we ourselves are breaking. But as special guest Amanda Kate says in today's episode, she'd rather go through the transformation than give up the (often challenging) path of healing. There is so much to be gained when we do this work - authenticity, sovereignty, choice. As we unlearn and deprogram, we begin to see new choices before us and take our sovereignty back. Those moments when we see the pattern and choose something different, often define who we become. In this episode, we explore:Unlearning the patterns and beliefs that keep us stuck in cyclesHealing after an abusive relationshipRecognizing the voice of our inner abuserAnger as a signal that a boundary has been crossedReparenting our scared inner childrenThe importance of REST on the healing journeyRaising our self-awareness to end cycles of harmHaving grace with our divine, messy humanness In this episode, I'm joined by author and transformational coach, Amanda Kate. Authentic Storytelling Builds Trust | Jason Cercone | Ep. 21
Send us a Text Message. What if sharing the authentic story actually got us better results? What if being real was more important than being perfect?Jason Cercone joins me on the show today for a conversation about brand authenticity and storytelling. Although imposter syndrome might keep us too afraid to share the good, bad, and ugly, doesn't it also make us human? The journey to hitting our goals or building a platform like a podcast (which happens to be Jason's speciality), is not linear... It takes putting ourselves out there even when it's scary and learning to befriend failure as a teacher. As Jason shares in the episode, it also takes commitment and perseverance. The myth of overnight success might be alluring, but authentic relationships of trust are built in the challenges along the way. To share the authentic story is not only healing for us as individuals, but it gives others permission to be their whole human self.In this episode:Why authentic storytelling gets better resultsThe importance of building trust as a brandThe connection between personal evolution and brand evolutionWhy staying in integrity yields better resultsHow play and curiosity keep us going when mastering a craft (like podcasting)Meet Jason CerconeWith nearly a decade of experience in the podcast world, Jason Cercone has built his brand around the consumptive power of storytelling and simplifying podcast guesting. The Death of a Business Paradigm | Janet Booth | Ep. 20

The Death of a Business Paradigm | Janet Booth | Ep. 20
Send us a Text Message. What can executives and business owners learn from the world of end-of-life care? We’re about to find out, from today’s guest, Jan Booth, who happens to be a palliative care nurse and seasoned death doula. Loss and change are an inevitable part of the human journey. Each time we change jobs or relationships or homes, there is a “death” and a grieving of what once was. We mourn who we used to be, and the loss of opportunities we didn’t take. Death is all around us. However, in Western culture we are conditioned to fear death, and Western medicine often views death as a “failure.” We try to prevent death at all costs, sometimes taking away the opportunity for a natural death. Even talking about death can feel uncomfortable and taboo, let alone expressing the emotions (anger, grief, sadness) that come with it.When we lose a family member, we get 3 days of bereavement if we’re lucky, and then we’re expected to go back to work. The pace of business as usual doesn’t allow the space for emotional processing, so we suppress and numb. This can make us feel isolated and disconnected. We find ourselves in an increasingly VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world, and we are watching entire industries and systems come to the end of their life… how might we hospice business as usual with compassion and care? In this episode:What can executives and business owners learn from end-of-life care? How leaders can help others through big changeWhy slowing down to process our emotions is more strategic than pushing throughHow our relationship to death mirrors or relationship to change Death doula skills that any leader can use About our guest:Janet Booth, MA, RN, NC-BCJan has worked as a nurse for many years at the intersection of quality of life and end of life, as a hospice/palliative care nurse and as an end-of-life coach and educator. She has served as faculty for the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy, the Conscious Dying Institute, and the Art of Dying Institute’s integrative thanatology certificate program; and presents workshops on the transformative possibilities of end-of-life care. Send us a Text Message.Leaders today have an opportunity to stop cycles of harm and heal patterns of multigenerational trauma. Leadership today can be very reactive. Initiation and Ceremony in Business | Ep. 13
Send us a Text Message.Initiation is the process of stepping into a new version of oneself. It often involves stepping into the unknown and leaving behind a version of self that you can’t ever go back to. This can be quite terrifying. However, when these big transitions are sacredly held, we can find deep meaning and purpose as we move through the fear zone. So how do we bring the magic of initiation into business? Each time we are promoted or enter the cultural fabric of a new company, we are initiated into a new chapter. We become a new version of ourselves, that we are meeting in real-time. But if the culture is one of “go go go” or “jump in and figure it out yourself,” we can miss all sorts of value that is ONLY available to us in those early stages of a new team member joining us. Fresh eyes bring fresh perspectives and vantage points that haven’t been accessed yet. New team members can see things that those too close to the problem cannot. If left to operate from old habits and assumptions, a new team member’s early enthusiasm may quickly dwindle or go towards building something that isn’t in alignment with where you want to take your company. Or worse, they may feel the neglect and generate all sorts of narratives about you and your company, eventually poisoning the well and making their way for the door. The first 90 days of onboarding are the most important in a new team member’s journey. How can we as leaders do the due diligence during hiring, so that we can feel like a f*ck yes to investing time and energy into the PERSON who has just joined. How can we infuse this process with appreciation and care, while setting high standards for quality and integrity in a role? How can we intelligently and empathically plug a new person into a company’s DNA?In today’s episode, we’ll be exploring the strategic role that initiation and integration processes can bring to our businesses. That’s right y’all – we are integrating the best wisdom from our spiritual practices WITH world-class business know-how. Let’s get into it. Work with me:www.nicolebellisle.comFollow @nicolebellisleSupport the Show.Love today's episode? Please leave a review and subscribe! If you want to be a more conscious leader or transition your business to a more regenerative model, visit us at:livingleaders.orghttps://www.youtube.com/livingleadersorg/https://www.instagram.com/livingleadersorg/Be sure to subscribe to The Regenerative Leader newsletter!Meet our host, Nicole Bellisle:https://www.nicolebellisle.comhttps://www.youtube.com/nicolebellislehttps://www.instagram.com/nicolebellisle/https://www.tiktok.com/@nicolebellisle
Choosing to Make the Quantum Leap | Ep. 12

Choosing to Make the Quantum Leap | Ep. 12
Send us a Text Message. What does it mean to take a leap of faith? And what (or who) waits for us on the other side?I took a leap of faith 3 years ago when I chose to leave the 9-5 model. I now travel the world living a global, seasonal lifestyle within a decentralized community of incredible humans... sounds incredible right? It is, AND it hasn’t come without its challenges. I’ve had to move through my fears over and over again. Often when we imagine the idealized version of ourselves or our lives, we don’t see the difficult aspects of being emotional, physical beings. Every lifestyle and every choice has pros and cons. But when we follow our inner guidance system, I find that the cons or “negative” aspects are aligned too. They often hold the medicine we need to fully step into that choice, and learn to love ourselves through all phases of the journey. Taking the leap of faith is a bold choice – one that I have made often. I find the hardest “leaps” are the ones we feel we can’t come back from… like deprogramming our mindsets, doing plant medicine, or any other choice that we intuitively know will change us to our core. Maybe our loved ones won’t even recognize us anymore. Part of us dies during these choices, but a new version of us is born in the process. It can feel disorienting to step into a completely new version of ourselves, a new set of rules or thinking, or start living in a new reality. Any other quantum jumpers out there? This one’s for you!Links: www.nicolebellisle.comhttps://www.instagram.com/nicolebellisle/Support the Show.Love today's episode? Please leave a review and subscribe! If you want to be a more conscious leader or transition your business to a more regenerative model, visit us at:livingleaders.orghttps://www.youtube.com/livingleadersorg/https://www.instagram.com/livingleadersorg/Be sure to subscribe to The Regenerative Leader newsletter!Meet our host, Nicole Bellisle:https://www.nicolebellisle.comhttps://www.youtube.com/nicolebellislehttps://www.instagram.com/nicolebellisle/https://www.tiktok.com/@nicolebellisle
Global, Seasonal Lifestyle Design | Ep. 11

Global, Seasonal Lifestyle Design | Ep. 11
Send us a Text Message. It can be scary to leave the current “template” of work. If we leave the “norm” or what is expected of us, will we be abandoned? Will we run out of resources? Fear can keep us stuck. The fear may even seem quite rational.Since leaving my 9-5 and redesigning my lifestyle, I’ve had to face it all… I’ve had to deconstruct my belief system, and then reconstruct my inner operating system with new beliefs. I now live a lifestyle that looks like I designed it. How did I do it? It started with getting myself into the most stillness and spaciousness I’ve ever experienced. I had to slow down so that I could begin to hear myself, and shine a light on what truly matters to me. It turns out that living a seasonal, global lifestyle that is anchored in nature’s cycles and rhythms, is how I want to operate. By honoring these cycles, my life has transformed. Inside this episode, I’ll share a few tools that I use at the start of each “season” of life, to map out my intentions and core focuses for the journey ahead. The approach is integrative across life + work, rather than treating them as two separate worlds. Manifestation & Living from Full Integrity | Ep. 10

Manifestation & Living from Full Integrity | Ep. 10
Send us a Text Message. What does it mean to live a life of full integrity? And how might it impact our ability to manifest? How we lead our lives is a form of leadership. The choices we make and the lifestyles we build for ourselves are all a reflection of our inner operating system. We each have our own intricate belief systems, complete with core values and guiding principles. But how often do we slow down to reflect on those beliefs and make sure that we want to keep them? This episode is all about getting under the hood of our own guiding principles and belief systems, so that we can understand what being in full alignment or integrity means for us. When we live from integrity and inner alignment, manifestation gets "easier" because there is no dissonance between who we are and what we are wanting. As conscious leaders, it's a sacred responsibility to come into our power as manifestors, and usher in "the better world our hearts know is possible." We get to do this by priming our bodies and clearing the energetics of our relationships. This gives us clarity and the spaciousness required to make fully aligned decisions in our lives, as well as manifest our dreams. When we lead from integrity, it impacts all of our relationships, including the one we have with ourselves. Throughout the episode, I'll share some of my favorite practices for maintaining inner alignment and integrity. These tools have vastly expanded my ability to manifest. Useful Links:Miro Board: https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVOtfn85Q=/?share_link_id=201842047821Resource Library:https://www.nicolebellisle.com/resourcesFollow me on Insta for more tips:https://www.instagram.com/nicolebellisle/Love the show? Samhain marked the Celtic New Year, the end of summer, and the end of the harvest season. It also signaled the beginning of winter, which they associated with death. On this day, the Celts believed the veil between the living and the dead was especially thin." Source: blp.orgSupport the Show.Love today's episode? Please leave a review and subscribe! If you want to be a more conscious leader or transition your business to a more regenerative model, visit us at:livingleaders.orghttps://www.youtube.com/livingleadersorg/https://www.instagram.com/livingleadersorg/Be sure to subscribe to The Regenerative Leader newsletter!Meet our host, Nicole Bellisle:https://www.nicolebellisle.comhttps://www.youtube.com/nicolebellislehttps://www.instagram.com/nicolebellisle/https://www.tiktok.com/@nicolebellisle
