The host of the podcast Connect Inspire Create is a business coach with a unique approach. Carol Clegg's philosophy is that running a company shouldn't take over someone's life. People shouldn't spend hours on end trying to reach more clients and maximize profits. Instead, owning a firm should work around someone's routine, relationships, and hobbies. Clegg calls these "lifestyle businesses." These types of ventures merge into a leader's day-to-day, adding substance instead of making it more stressful. With her podcast, Clegg strives to aid entrepreneurs who are both starting out or are well on their way. She wants to provide knowledge on how to make the business work for them, not the other way around. So she created a podcast by women for women.
Clegg began her journey into entrepreneurship as a social media expert. She took on several clients as a virtual assistant to others. Then she launched Classic Exec Marketing in 2009. With that agency, Clegg was already supporting small businesses in spreading their message. But after a retreat in 2018, she realized it wasn't enough. Clegg wanted to do more for founders, especially women who were starting out later in life. That's when she decided to coach and offer mindset training for business owners. That's how the podcast Connect Inspire Create began.
Episodes of the podcast are never more than 30 minutes long. The advice is concise and doesn't take up too much of the listeners' time. Clegg often offers short solo installments. There, she provides guidance from her personal experience and expertise. Topics range from dealing with stagnation to the importance of taking a break. In her interview episodes, Clegg makes a point of inviting guests from a variety of disciplines. Those include energy practitioners, voice coaches, CEOs, and more. Guests like Cat Valentine and Molly Ruland provide guidance. Connect Inspire Create releases new episodes on Thursdays.
