Episode 39 - Smart People Only

Me Clicking RECord with Dane Curley

Nov 13 2021 • 28 mins

Dane reads the philosopher Schopenhauer's thoughts on Smart People versus "the pathetic commonplace heads with which the world is crammed," and how that too-heavy-on-the-wrong-side spectrum plays out in societal interactions. Then, he shares Schopy's list of Commonly Held Opinions That Are Wrong (such as Tragedy is more difficult to write than Comedy), sings Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime," and reads George Carlin's delightfully flowy "Modern Man" monologue. Dane also says "goodbye" at the end of the show, instead of "peace," because he was in a very weird mood today.
