Better known as the Pennsylvania Reserves, these were enthusiastic patriots who signed up to serve the Nation even after Pennsylvania had hit it's initial quota of troops to send to the field.

It was a good thing too! As the PA Reserves were called upon to help bolster a sagging Union in late 1861 and served honorably for the rest of the war.
