Topic: Knock Knock who’s there?

Prov 16.2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.

In pursuit of opportunities, marital partner, friendships, job etc know that satan is the deceiver he comes to deceive in your place of need / want. Therefore not every knock on your door is a God sent offer just because it meets your need. Satan offered Jesus food when he was hungry, but it was not Jesus time to eat!

Knock Knock who’s there? Is this a faith, fear, greed, pride or appetite opportunity?

Genesis 3.1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

2And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

4Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

6So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b]coverings.

James 1.5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. And then your poor choices affects those around you, those in your business, those in your family. Eve made a wrong choice and swayed her husband to partake of her wrong choice and they both suffered the cursed life.

Matthew 7.7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Revelations 3. Here Jesus is addressing the The Lukewarm Church 14“And to the angel of the church [j]of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither [k]cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.[l] Therefore be [m]zealous and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”

Not every friendship door is a God connected friendship.2 Cor 6.14

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what [d]fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what [e]communion has light with darkness? 15And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

1 Cor 15.33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 34Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.” surely not all people who perceive to be friendly are worth having in your personal space.

God’s doors opened are faith opportunities not carnal human opportunities. You need faith to enter into those doors and succeed in that opportunity.

Psalm 37.4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (opportunities come from above and they are faith inspired opportunities)

Hebrews 11.31By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace, knowing that she would endanger her family if the King found out she was hiding the spies, faith in their God was what made her opened her door to them.

God’s doors are faith opportunities, faith friendships and faith results - where as He leads you obey and fulfill.

Matthew 6.33 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Hebrews 11.6 6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 7By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

Hebrew 11.30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

Joshua 5. And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” - It was the captain of God’s army that came to give him Strategy on how to address the stronghold surrounding of Jericho.

Next time you have knocking on your doors, before asking who’s there, ask Holy Spirit must I entertain or ignore?
