In this video, Pastor Denise deep dives into the story of Simeon and how although he was a believer he still practiced iniquity that appeared to be generational.   Jon the videographer joins Pastor Denise to discuss his real-life example of generational iniquity that was at work within his life.

Iniquity thrives in darkness where it is not recognized. Pastor Denise talks about the generation before you not calling something a sin that should have been considered a sin. For that reason, the iniquity continued to travel on to the next generation.   When the Holy Spirit is convicting you, the proper response is to confess, ask for forgiveness, and turn from your ways towards Christ.

Rejection begins in childhood, when you need affirmation but do not receive it. Your parents may have been too busy and as a result, you begin to work to get their attention and affirmation.   Practice sitting at Jesus's feet over and over until you get it. Once you feel loved by Jesus, your worth will no longer be based on what people think about you. Your worth is based on your relationship with Him, and all He requires is for you to sit with Him.

Miscalculation is a major factor as to why a performance-oriented person cannot rest. They miscalculate and overshoot based on the lies they have believed and the drivenness these lies create. They don't properly calculate the amount of time, energy, the distance that must be traveled, or the financial resources it will take to accomplish the task. Their worth is based on how much they accomplish, so they overcommit.     What if I told you that if you recalculate and spend more time with God it will enhance your quality of life?!

What lies have you believed?! Write them down. Performance orientation is built on lies from the enemy. When you believe his lies, you are controlled by the feelings these lies produce. If you believed the lie "I'm not good enough?" The feeling of not measuring up can be the driving force behind your present performance.

In this podcast, Pastor Denise invites Living Waters Ministry videographer Jon Murray on the set as they discuss where performance begins in childhood. Look back on the days of your childhood. Did you receive affirmation? Was the affirmation based on who you were or how much you complied?

Is your soul restless? Do you find yourself always taking on more than what you can accomplish? This indicates that you are in a cycle of performance. The word of God says come to me all you who are heavy laden. Can you relate to being heavy-laden? Perhaps beginning at an early age when you had to take on responsibilities that you were never supposed to. The cycle of performance can travel back to childhood. Jesus promises to give rest to all you who are heavy-laden if you come to him. Will you come to Jesus today and give him your burden?

Did you know that performance-oriented people struggle with depression? It stems from the lie that their worth is based on their accomplishments because their parent's love was conditional. Their good performance gained them acceptance and bad performance equaled immediate rejection.

There's a distinct difference between conditional and unconditional love. Love that is given consistency independent of good or bad performance is considered unconditional. It is love for who you are without conditions that have to be met. Receiving unconditional love is important to be freed from depression. Your heart needs a daily flow of God's unconditional love.

Depression is a word that everyone has an opinion on depending upon which counselor or doctor you have seen.   In this podcast, Pastor Denise chooses to travel to the truth of God's word to give insight on the topic of depression. God's word says that hope deferred makes the heart sick, it is vitally important to receive a constant flow of God's love to fill every area of your heart to treat it.

In this video, Pastor Denise discusses generational iniquity that has hidden its way throughout the generations of your family. She mentions how iniquity can be disguised and embraced as a "family way of doing things."   Iniquity can be recognized with reoccurring problems and difficulties. The first step of breaking free from iniquity is always recognizing the iniquity, confessing it, and moving on.

She encourages the listener to identify the areas where they didn't grow up.   Growing up, if you always received from your parents whatever you wanted, it hindered your ability to mature in budgeting, responsibility, and setting boundaries.

As you become older, did your parents allow you to learn how to make decisions?   Pastor Denise Boggs explains how you can be locked up in parent-to-child relationships that always make you feel like a child. If you have not broken free from parent-to-child relationships then you will carry that on to other relationships.   At the age of 12, we exit childhood and trend upwards towards adulthood. As we get older, responsibility and ownership should naturally increase. If that is not the case, you become stuck in childhood even when you're an adult.

Pastor Denise Boggs discusses the topic of judgments. Judgment involves taking the seat of a judge to criticize or condemn another; therefore looking down on them. The measure in which we judge is the measure in which we will be judged. Make a list, ask the Lord, and look at the evidence of your life to accurately pinpoint judgments that have been made.

After 25 years of ministry, Pastor Denise has discovered that the status of your relationship with your earthly father can harden the heart more than anything. It is your earthly father's assignment to awaken your spirit. If you lacked an earthly father or had one that was harsh, abusive, or absent emotionally. Your spirit begins to slumber.
