Black Doctors Talk Podcast Episode 82 featuring Dr. Kimberly M. Griffin - Adult Education

Join us on this week’s Black Doctors Talk Podcast which features our guest, Dr. Kimberly M. Griffin. Dr. Griffin is a professional educator with over 17 years of experience and nine years, specifically, in adult education. She speaks to us on her work with adults as an Associate Dean and an Associate Professor in the College of Education at Piedmont University. Dr. Griffin has always been an advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which led her to join the DEI Council and volunteer to serve as the faculty co-chair.

During the podcast, Dr. Griffin shares her time serving in K-12, Title I schools as an Instructional Coach and Teacher Leader where she supported and trained teachers to implement research-based instructional strategies for improved instruction and student learning. Dr. Griffin has always focused on Multiculturalism and Social/Cultural instruction. She also discusses her focus to support the university in creating more diverse hiring practices which allows students to see themselves in faculty members as well as a sense of safety and optimism of what is possible due to the amount of diverse representation present. Dr. Griffin has always advocated and served in communities that are often underserved, undervalued, and underappreciated.

Dr. Griffin earned a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University, a Master’s in Education from DePaul University, an Education Specialist and Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University (formally Piedmont College). She is certified with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, a Georgia Master Teacher, and has a Tier I Leadership Certification. Dr. Griffin also has a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.
