Listeners of the podcast Food Chained can expect a master class in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). The host, Vasa Martinez, has been in the CPG industry for over a decade. He started as a marketing manager in companies such as Real Good Foods and Legendary Foods.

But soon, the podcast host realized that he wanted to become his own boss and founded Needs Pop! It was a food and beverage creative studio to support startups with their marketing. One business, alongside being a CMO for another agency, wasn't enough for him. So Martinez decided to start a social media marketing agency for CPG. In addition, he founded his own low-sugar soda company, Perfy.

The podcast is another venture in Martinez's career, where he gets to share his expertise. But more than that, it's a place for him to make a difference. In Food Chained, the host examines a side of the food chain that has to do with ethical food production. He talks to his guests about sustainable agriculture. Some of them talk about the way their products connect cultures and communities. Others talk about the impact family heritage had on their companies.

In each episode of Food Chained, Martinez wishes to meet the people behind the products. The guests present a mix of small and large companies, new and established alike. They are also from a variety of backgrounds. The one thing they have in common is being part of the CPG industry.

The host asks his guests engaging questions about their journeys. He is not afraid to press about important issues and offer his experience along the way. He inquires about their industry secrets, lessons they've learned, and any advice they can provide. The result is a thought-provoking conversation beneficial to any CPG professional. But any aspiring startup founder may find useful material among the discussions on Food Chained.
