Our Editor's Take

Nobody Panic is a comedy advice podcast for navigating adult life. Hosts Tessa Coates and Stevie Martin offer helpful tips for all of life’s challenges. Each episode gives listeners a humorous guide to everyday tasks and skills. The show explores everything from personal finance to reading social cues. Along with a variety of guests, the hosts share practical insights with a comedic tone.

Tessa is an author, sketch performer, and comedian. She and cohost Stevie have published a book that shares its title with the podcast. They are both members of the sketch trio Massive Dad along with Liz Kingsman. Tessa has also written content for publications like ES Magazine and Best for Film. She has toured several stand-up special sets around the world.

Stevie is a prolific online content creator. She has produced a number of online comedy sketch videos that have tens of millions of views. Beyond this podcast, she also cohosts Might Delete Later. Stevie has several TV show and radio credits to her name as well. In addition to co-authoring a book with Tessa, she has written pieces for Vice and The Guardian.

Many of the podcast’s topics focus on problems anyone might encounter. Each episode title begins with “How to” although some are more educational than others. The live episode “How to Do Your Tax Return” is a good example. Tessa decided it would be fun to do her taxes while recording. However, as neither host is a tax expert, they admit the information won’t be of any actual help. Despite the disclaimer, the segment is still a hilarious journey through Tessa’s finances.

Other topics on the show include “How to Pack for a Holiday” and “How to Wash your Face.” The podcast welcomes a variety of expert guests for certain topics. Poker player and comedian Ken Cheng has joined the hosts to explain how to play the game. They have also spoken with James Acaster and Stuart Laws. Every episode offers personal stories, laughs, and some advice. Most installments of Nobody Panic are around 30 minutes long.
