Geek Psychology: Play Life Better

Matt Sherman

I help geeks and gamers to play life better. As an INFP, I've spent a lot of time trying to understand myself, forcing myself outside of my comfort zone, finding my purpose in life, gaining self-confidence, and learning how to have better relationships. Personality type is one of the main models I use to help clients regain control over their lives, but I also tend to use Neuro-Linguistic Programming and hypnosis as well. Stay awhile and listen!

Step-by-step ISFP Success Process

Step-by-step ISFP Success Process
Send me a textISFPs are often called artistic, kind, and sensitive - they're also very adaptive when they start leaning into their strengths. This type is known for their strong sense of values and for being independent. The ISFP personality type has characteristics that make them seek feeling valued, satisfied, and fulfilled in life. If you're an ISFP or you're helping to teach an ISFP how to achieve success in life, specific suggestions should be made for each of the four areas that make up the ISFP personality type. Leveraging these helps you naturally lean into your superpower of being convicted about what's right for you. It makes growth easier and reduces the normal struggles that you'll eventually come across because you're able to overcome your weaknesses quicker and with less struggle.Whether you're thinking of your subconscious (unconscious) mind as an ally or not, you can get better access to it (and build better rapport with it) by creating goals that satisfy your introverted iNtuiting function. This whole video came about because I was thinking about superheroes and how these types (and subtypes) of characters accomplish their goals by being holistically aligned with what's important to them. Their id, ego, and superego might get in the way sometimes, but by knowing they have access to all the resources around them (and within them), they can quickly summon the right states and take on whatever comes their way. :)Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saT6fmOCL_g****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal

Understanding INFPs, Trauma, and Growth
Send me a textIn this video, I discuss whether INFPs are more prone to experiencing trauma or PTSD than other personality types. I share my personal story to illustrate how INFPs might process emotional experiences and the impact of those on their lives. Utilizing neurolinguistic programming and timeline work, I've used these tools to help navigate the past and shape a more positive future. I also delve into how INFPs' cognitive functions can lead to a focus on negative experiences and offer advice on changing mindsets towards personal growth and development.00:00 Exploring INFPs and Trauma: An Introduction00:22 Personal Journey: From Divorce to Self-Discovery01:05 The Power of Neurolinguistic Programming for INFPs02:29 Understanding INFPs: Emotions, Identity, and Growth02:50 The Role of Introverted Sensing and Intuition in INFPs05:13 Shifting Perspectives: From Negativity to Potential05:33 The Impact of Labels on Self-Perception and Growth06:33 Crafting a Positive Future: Mindset and Action07:43 Embracing INFP Superpowers for Personal and Collective Growth09:21 Conclusion: Lessons from the Past and Embracing Your INFP IdentityOriginal video: https://youtu.be/GbgunS-rPjI?si=hjj7mETUic2DOU1Y****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal
ISTP's Battle Between Head and Heart

ISTP's Battle Between Head and Heart
Send me a textISTP's Battle Between Head and HeartHave you ever felt like as an ISTP, you're afraid to get too close to people because they might leave you or hurt you? It's understandable, especially since introverted thinking is your main strength - you excel at detached processing of information to get good and accurate results. However, with that comes the shadow side of extroverted feeling, which involves navigating the social world and social cues.As an INFP, I've learned from my experiences that it's important to embrace failure as a way to move forward. If someone leaves or hurts you, it's not necessarily a reflection of your worth. Instead, use that information to find someone who's even better for you next time. And in the meantime, focus on improving yourself. So if you're an ISTP struggling with this fear of getting hurt, remember that it's okay to take risks and fail. With every experience, you'll learn and grow, and eventually, you'll find the right people who appreciate you for who you are.Original video: https://youtube.com/shorts/As9PYvL2zGw?si=f7b5-jyNrm2JQuH0Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal
INTJ: Nobody Gets You?

INTJ: Nobody Gets You?
Send me a textFeeling lonely and like no one gets you? It's not uncommon for INTJs. As an INTJ, using Introverted Intuition (the Mystic) as your primary cognitive function can feel isolating at times. You see the world in a unique way, and it can be hard to find others who share your perspective. Only 5-7% of the population have Introverted Intuition as a strength, and it's even less as a dominant function, so it's understandable that you may feel like no one sees the world in the way you do. Because it's true! Instead of focusing on what you don't have in terms of understanding from others, try to focus on the strengths that come from having such a unique perspective. You bring a level of insight and strategic thinking to the table that is highly valued. Try reaching out to like-minded individuals, either online or in person, through groups, forums, or meetups focused on INTJs or personality type in general. These can be great places to connect with others who share your perspective and experiences.  Bonus tip: The better you get at creating and expressing what's going on inside through logical structure, the more likely you'll be able to be understood and have a bit of solace.Original video: https://youtube.com/shorts/W0zTo0_5jUQ?si=0pyWxjBwRPaqhTU9Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal

Lacking Energy And Motivation? Mana Pots

Lacking Energy And Motivation? Mana Pots
Send me a textWondering why you're always tired? Imagine your energy level is like the mana bar in a video game. You start out at full mana, but as you go around casting spells and doing awesome things, your mana goes down. If you want to keep going strong, you need to find ways to bring your mana back up.There are many ways to do this in-game. Maybe you're playing a game where there are mana potions laying around, and you can use those when your mana starts running low. Or maybe there's a place where you can regenerate mana by sitting in a mana pool or touching a shrine to refill. There are many ways to do this in real life: Here are 5 little things you can do to refill your real-life character's mana or energy levels. If you're lacking motivational energy to do anything after work, or just a general feeling of depression or being sleepy, these 5 little things you can do will help. I've been there - there's are things that I've developed in my life and stand by. As for the underlying reasons you lack time to work on yourself everyday, I suggest you look into finding your purpose - something that ignites you and gives back to the world. There's a link at the end of the video to help with that. Again, this is something that I know from personal experience dealing with my own mental health issues and wondering before "why am I still struggling with my life and have no big achievements to show?" Also, not mentioned in the video, but you should be aware of people as energy vampires as well! Some people just drain you and I really suggest getting away from them as soon as possible.#energy #depressionOriginal video: https://youtu.be/jJdniu3xSdg?si=DW2wJsypGi6woVuZ****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal
Do INFP have Strong Extraverted Feeling?

Do INFP have Strong Extraverted Feeling?
Send me a textI was asked, "Do INFPs have strong extraverted Feeling?" so I want to explain where I feel some of the confusion might be coming from for those INFP who feel they use extraverted feeling as a strength or are confused about the difference between that and introverted feeling.I've explained about the perceiving and judging function types that INFPs prefer in other videos, but I want to talk about how one MBTI type might combine their dominant function with their auxiliary function to get something that seems like another one. If that was difficult to understand, the video explains it in a more in-depth way.Just a note: Also, I've noticed many people writing it as extroverted - but Carl Jung originally called it extraverted. Does it really matter or will someone get confused about one vs the other? Probably not, but hey, it's good to know.Original video: https://youtu.be/lj4LSIIcMo8?si=e4LK8JRbre9JH8jB****Connect and Support Geek Psychology #geekpsychology ****FREE 8 Hero Personality Assessment: https://geekpsychology.com/ Support the Show.🔗 Links:FREE 5-Day INFP Soul Journey course: http://inowfeelpositive.comPath of Heroes Academy: http://poha.geekpsychology.comI Now Feel Positive Masterclass for INFPs: http://infp.geekpsychology.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/geekpsychology/ Want to be coached by me? - Book a FREE Strategy Call: schedule.geekpsychology.com Buy my book and journal here:- Personal Transformation Journaling: End the Cycle of Self-Sabotage and Create Lasting Positive Change Through Writing, Reflection and the Parts Work Technique- Mission: Control: The gamified journal
