See Your Toes Again

Pete Robin

Are you tired of following mainstream methods to lose weight? do you have a chronic mental illness that the drugs & therapy just aren't helping?
You're not alone. Come listen to my guests, who have lost loads of weight, or they have overcome mental illness, and have become healthy and energetic as a result.

Chronic mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and even Parkinson's have all be forced back into remission by my guests who can talk the talk because they have personally walked the walk!

You can control your own illnesses too. You just need to know how. And I promise that calorie-restriction is generally not part of our conversation.

Physical chronic illnesses can include heart disease, high blood pressure, so called "high cholesterol", lack of energy, arthritis, gout, and type 2 diabetes, to scratch the surface. These methods can also help you control your type 1 diabetes.

This is a podcast all about improving your health, both physically & mentally.
My guests & I discuss ways you can regain your health, regardless of your chronic illness, or even if you are just not happy with your current weight.
My podcasts discuss all the ways that you can increase your health,  lose significant body fat, tone up, restore your hormonal balances and take charge of your life.
I'll also discuss exercises and all sorts of subjects related to your health and well-being.

Please also read my book, also called See Your Toes Again, available exclusively on Amazon.

My caveat: if you are on medication, please do not attempt to cease your medications until you have spoken with your specialist, and they are confident your health has improved enough that you don't need to use them anymore.
I am not a qualified medical specialist, and neither are most of my guests. We are just normal people who have obtained abnormal results!

Podcast 37: One therapist’s fight to help patients escape from Mental Health medications, Part 2

Podcast 37: One therapist’s fight to help patients escape from Mental Health medications, Part 2
Send us a Text Message. This is Part 2 of a 2-part podcast with Neseret Bemient, a therapist with a difference. Part 1 was on podcast 36.  Are you on medications to help alleviate your mental health? Have you noticed a number of side effects that nobody warned you about? Did you know that suicidal thoughts are often directly linked with anti-depressants? If you believe that the current mental health system is designed to help people get over their mental illnesses, you will often be wrong. Once a person starts down the road of a medication, in many instances it can be almost impossible to stop, and often the side effects have not been fully discussed with the patient. That’s the comment from a therapist who has found herself on both sides of the “counter”. This episode 36 chats in detail about the mental health system, and most importantly, how people who go into it with an ambition to be made healthy again, generally stay in the system forever. Neseret Bemient has been a therapist for decades, but also found herself as a patient, also for decades. This is a very interesting, and often polarising, frank discussion about her own plight, and how she finally broke away, but not before falling into a deep dark hole that even included thoughts of suicide.  If you’d like to follow Neseret, she has a YouTube channel called “Confessions of a psych nurse” . Send us a Text Message. What would you do if you had symptoms of an incurable disease, and after visiting 3 different specialist clinics you were told each time that you in fact had Parkinson’s? This is exactly the news that today’s guest was given. Did she roll over and accept her fate? Podcast 34: Tackling Schizophrenia & Obesity with Harmony Bright – Part 2
Send us a Text Message. This is Part 2 of the conversation with Harmony, so if you haven’t listened to Part 1 (Podcast 33) I strongly suggest you do so first, because this conversation won’t make much sense without it.  How would you cope if you were diagnosed early in your life with schizophrenia? This followed years of anxiety, hallucinations, and other serious mental illnesses to the extent that she was prescribed an assortment of drugs to help her cope. But the drugs had two major side effects; (a) they made her drowsy to the extent that the simplest of tasks became nearly impossible, and her memory was almost non-existent, and (b) the medications also made her seriously increase her weight.  She ended up morbidly obese, weighing 273 lb (124 kilograms, or 18 stone). She was so heavy that eventually both of her knees required surgery, and the vertebrae in her neck had also collapsed, so they needed surgery too. It was at this darkest time that Harmony had to make a serious decision; continue on her current path & accept a slow, debilitating, painful road to an imminent death, or fight back. This is the story of an incredibly brave woman who took matters into her own hands. Listen to Harmony as she explains her fight to win her life back. The entire conversation is 1 hour & 30 minutes so I have divided it into 2 parts. Part 1 is on Podcast 33, and Part 2 immediately follows on Podcast 34. I hope you enjoy Harmony’s story. I hope that it inspires you to take action, even when the chips are down & life is dealing you plenty of hard blows. If you are suffering like Harmony was, I hope her story will show you that there is light at the end of the tunnel, but you will have to reach out and grab it! Her story is not without sweat, tears and lots of hard work. The best time to start is today. Harmony’s story will inspire you to take that first step. By the way, you can follow Harmony on X (twitter) at @bright_har6612 Please note that at no time in this podcast do we suggest you change any of your prescribed medications without seeking advice from your doctor first. 27. Crohn’s disease is a debilitating chronic illness with no cure… or so we’re told! Part 2 of 2.
Send us a Text Message. This is Part 2 of a 2 part conversation, so if you haven't heard podcast 26 then I strong urge you to listen to that first, because otherwise none of this podcast will make much sense! Can you imagine having a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, that makes you poop well over a dozen times a day. Imagine when it escalates to affecting your skin, your hair, your weight, and even your mental health. This is what most people who suffer from Crohn’s Disease go through all their lives. They might have good days, but a flare up makes even the simplest daily tasks impossible, and of course that’s not taking the pain into account. Many people who suffer from such a horrible illness also suffer equally from mental illness. It has been suggested that the two (physical & mental illness) could be far more closely related than we have thought. That’s a subject for another day, but today’s guest highlights this relationship. Today’s podcast welcomes Conor, a 28-year-old from Glasgow, Scotland. Conor was diagnosed with Crohn’s at the age of 12 and has suffered for all these years until 2 years ago when he stepped away from the norm, took matters into his own hands, ignored the advice of his doctors & dieticians, and tried something completely radical, which reflected his desperation. This is a podcast about an amazing person who has achieved what most people with Crohn’s disease can only dream of, remission! This conversation has been broken into 2 parts and this is PART 2 (Part 1 is on Podcast 26). I hope you enjoy it, & I hope it encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and challenge the norm!Support the Show. For more information go to www.seeyourtoesagain.com, or visit me on Instagram, Facebook or You Tube on "See Your Toes Again". 25. Ketogenic Therapy: is this a cure for mental illnesses? With guest Donika Hristova
Send us a Text Message.Do you suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, binging, voices, or perhaps a combination of these? You’re not alone. Mental illness is the most prevalent illness in modern society. It has reached epidemic proportions. What would you be prepared to do to make it stop? If you aren’t personally afflicted, I bet you know somebody who is. Mental illness can affect every facet of your life, including your health, your relationships and your job.   Whereas it’s easy to consider mental illness as genetic, or the "luck of the draw", or perhaps a result of trauma, it turns out that there are ways to cure the symptoms without medications or therapy (caveat: if you are currently on medication, and you feel results from what is discussed in this podcast, please stay on it until your doctor has said you’re okay to cut back). Today’s podcast introduces my guest, Donika, who is the founder of a Meetup group called Keto for Mental Health. The non-profit group has over 600 members worldwide and helps people of all walks of life manage & repair their mental illness through something as simple as the food you eat. Don’t believe it? Sounds too simple? It is simple! And yet it works; it has worked for thousands of people & it can work for you too. It works because it alters your body at a metabolic level. Listen to this podcast to learn more. What will you get in return? A much more positive outlook on life, energy to burn, and your health will almost definitely take a leap forward too. If you're overweight, you will most likely shed loads of body fat. If you want more information on getting started with ketogenic therapy, listen to my podcasts #1 & 2 which talk about it in more detail. Please note that I do not make money from my podcasts; they are designed to help people overcome illnesses and become healthier. Donika’s group in Meetup, also, is a non-profit group. To join the Meetup group or find more out about it, go to Keto for Mental Health . Meetup is an international community of like-minded people in all sorts of subjects. For more information on Donika’s website, Transformation Evoked, go to www.transformationevoked.com. Donika is a mental health coach, so please feel free to check out her website. If you’d like to help me out (and help yourself out in the process), why not purchase my book? It’s also called See Your Toes Again. It’s available only on Amazon; it’s about 200 pages long & explains the ketogenic diet in detail, to get you going in the right direction. Although it says it’s for men, it’s equally relevant to everyone.  Good luck,  Pete RobinSee Your Toes AgainSupport the Show. For more information go to www.seeyourtoesagain.com, or visit me on Instagram, Facebook or You Tube on "See Your Toes Again". 22/3 What would it be like to have voices preventing you from eating? Part 3 of 3 parts
Send us a Text Message. If you haven’t listened to Parts 1 & 2 then I strongly suggest you do so. This is the story of the struggle of a person with chronic, debilitating anorexia that led to all sorts of other illnesses, and almost killed her. She endured this life for 40 years before literally finding her own way out of the dark hole. She talks candidly, and some of her stories are nothing short of horrific. In this final part of the story, Valerie discusses her cure, and how she changed her entire life simply from choosing what foods to eat. It sounds overly simplistic, but Valerie is testimony of the power of the foods we choose to eat… and choose to not eat! This is the true story of a woman who has spent 4 decades suffering from anorexia, OCD, self-harm, hair-pulling, cutting and schizoaffective disorder. She spent parts of her childhood locked away in a ward of the hospital as she withered away in her anorexic world she couldn’t escape from. As an adult, still anorexic, she developed chronic fatigue, osteoporosis, prolapsed organs & hypothyroid (to name a few chronic illnesses) from her lack of nutrition. At 30 years old she weighed 75 lb (34 kg or 5.3 stone). It’s easy for a healthy person to say that she should “just eat more”, but these illnesses are more than just physical; they are diseases of the mind, forcing the participant to watch helplessly as she falls apart from the inside out. This story will have you bewildered with what Valerie coped with for 4 decades of her life, and it’s a miracle she survived. But survive she did, and eventually she found her own way out of the dark hole, DESPITE all the drugs & rehabilitation that the medical & psychiatric establishments dealt to her over the years. I have divided our original conversation into 3 podcasts because it was 1 hour 35 minutes long, so now each of the 3 podcasts is about 35 minutes long. We delve deep into all her issues throughout her life, how they affected her, and how the current medical establishment’s methods just made her into a walking zombie. This story miraculously has a happy ending… but you’ll need to listen to hear it! There is light at the end of this tunnel! If you suffer from any of Valerie’s chronic mental or physical illnesses, these 3 podcasts offer you the chance to finally get your life back. I hope Valerie’s story can motivate other sufferers to climb their way out of their darkness! It’s a terrible world they exist in, where the only escape is while they sleep. Valerie’s journey leads the way to a truly remarkable, completely natural healing process. Valerie’s social media name is @ValerieAnne1970 In the coming weeks I will have other guests chatting about both mental & physical chronic illnesses; experts in their fields, so if you are interested, or you think it might help others, then please subscribe to this podcast; See Your Toes Again. This is a non-profit podcast, and I aim to help people get healthier, both emotionally & physically; you’ll be surprised with how similar both results (mental & physical health) are, and how simple the recipe to better health is! Thank you, Pete RobinSupport the Show. For more information go to www.seeyourtoesagain.com, or visit me on Instagram, Facebook or You Tube on "See Your Toes Again". 21. What would it be like to be a Food Addict?
Send us a Text Message. What would it be like to be a young woman growing up in an obese body? Can you imagine her emotional struggles, let alone her physical hurdles? It’s easy for thin people to say that a large person should just “eat less and exercise more”, but what if you were literally addicted to food? In today’s world, highly calorific foods, void of any nutritional value, are everywhere. Is this like asking an alcoholic to work in a liquor store? But that liquor store is literally every food shop in the country!Today’s podcast guest used to be obese (22 stone; 308 lb, 138 kg) until she was given a gastric bypass. Carlie talks about how this changed the direction of her life, but she also discusses the mental tortures associated with her food addiction, and her continual battles to eat healthy food, lose body fat and regain her health. Carlie’s story is truly inspirational. I hope you enjoy listening to her energy, and if you are struggling with your weight, I hope you find inspiration in this podcast. #bariatric #obese #loseweight # depression #sugar #gastricbypass #foodaddict #foodaddiction Support the Show. For more information go to www.seeyourtoesagain.com, or visit me on Instagram, Facebook or You Tube on "See Your Toes Again". In doing so you'll lose fat, sort your hormones out, and become a whole lot healthier! The are no calorie restrictions involved, no magic pills, and no chickens need to be sacrificed either.  Phew! This method will help prevent, or reverse, several chronic diseases too, such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, gout, Alzheimer’s, depression, hypertension and metabolic syndrome to name a few. #keto #ketogenic #lowcarb #healthyfood #healthyfats #diabetes #hearthealth #saturatedfats #bloodsugar #heartdisease #heartattack #metabolicsyndrome #depression #hypertension #anxiety #bipolar #LCHF #statins #cholesterolSupport the Show. For more information go to www.seeyourtoesagain.com, or visit me on Instagram, Facebook or You Tube on "See Your Toes Again".
