Episode 29 | Eugene Wrapup
Neal, Mike, and Jason are back with some more banter. Neal is fresh off the Eugene Show, we talk wood covers - again, and Jason has a beef with rice beer. Note, in the show, we mentioned the amount of drinking that went on in Sheffield in the 1850s. There was a beer tax repeal in the 1830s that created a boom and zero hindrance for consumption. That coupled with poor sources of drinking water, low life expectancy rates (especially in cutlery) and you had the makings of an environment that would make today's craft brewing scene look like child's play. There were 1,303 "drinking shops" in Sheffield in 1859.Support the Show.If you enjoyed the episode, be sure to give us some of those stars in your podcast app!Mike Moran: @moranknives and on the web: moranknives.comCheck out Neal's latest latest book on J.A.
