All the Moore

Levi Moore

All the Moore is a podcast where two brothers explore the one truth threaded through the pages of Scripture: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Levi and Aaron Moore, both pastors and aspiring theologians, have casual conversations about both the challenging and straightforward truths one finds in Scripture. There may be the occasional tangent on everyday life or even what it is like to pastor a rural church, but one thing that always happens is the continual mission to keep on searching out Scriptural truths all the more. Episode 27: On God is Grey and "The Shack": A Response
A former student of mine (Levi Moore) asked for my review and response to a video they found on YouTube. The video was produced by Brenda Marie Davies on her channel, "God is Grey." The video was an interview of Wm. Paul Young, the author of "The Shack," and Young makes some bold claims during this interview. This is my response. Holiness is a relational term, fundamentally, nothing to do with sin and all that kind of stuff that we grew up thinking…. Wholeness is when the way of your being matches the truth of your being. Wholeness is when how you live your life and the choices you make is an expression of the truth of your being.” Bill Mounce. ἅγιος. https://www.billmounce.com/greek-dictionary/hagios When Young quotes Luther, he neglects to provide any reference as to where Luther makes this statement, but I did find an article from a somewhat reputable source that discusses the alleged statement made by Luther. Fast-forward 450 years or so, and Abraham’s descendants have been enslaved in Egypt, rescued by God from slavery, and then have to fight to take the land which God had promised and planned to give them originally without a fight. Concluding Remarks Acts 17:11 (ESV): Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Be more concerned for God's glory than for your relief. Acknowledge your enemy, but keep your eyes on the Lord. Pray! Stay calm and confident and give God time to work. Episode 13: The Searching Servant
Feb 22 2019
Episode 13: The Searching Servant
In this episode, we look into the correlation between Abraham's servant searching for Isaac's bride with the Holy Spirit searching and bringing the Bride to Christ. Scripture read in the episode comes from Genesis 22 and 24, Romans 8, and Ephesians 1. Abraham, the servant, Isaac, and Rebekah are representative of God the Father, Gor the Holy Spirit, God the Son, and the Church, respectively. The servant was sent by Abraham to deliver the good news of a marriage to a hopeful bride who heard, believed, and was sealed with a dowry and rings. The same can be said for us as Christians who heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who believed in the truth of that Gospel, and have been sealed by the Holy Spirit as the dowry and promise of Christ's imminent return to claim His Bride (Church).
