Our Editor's Take

Brock and Salk is the podcast version of the popular Seattle AM sports talk radio program. Seattle residents might be familiar with the hosts Brock Huard and Mike Salk. Both have become known for their humorous opinions on sports and pop culture. The hosts have a strong connection to the area and speak about local happenings. Listeners don't need to live in Seattle or be familiar with it to enjoy this podcast. All they need is excitement for sports in general.

Podcast host Huard is a Seattle native who had a prominent high school football career. Afterward, he played for the Seattle Seahawks from 1999-2001. He then spent the 2002-2003 season with the Indianapolis Colts. Huard returned to Seattle to spend the 2004-2005 season with the team before retiring. In 2008, he began working with ESPN as a commentator.

Salk has been a prominent name in Seattle sports radio for well over a decade. Before Brock and Salk, he began his career in April 2009 as a host on 710 ESPN Seattle. He was part of the initial team that started the Seattle Sports radio station. He also served as a director of programming for the station from 2019 to 2021.

One of the most compelling aspects of this podcast is the host's interviews. The guests they invite are knowledgeable and often are famous in the football world. Super Bowl champion Kurt Warner has been a previous guest on Brock and Salk. UW Huskies coach Jedd Fisch has also made several appearances on the podcast as well.

Brock and Salk is also home to several other radio programs. The K.J. Wright Show sometimes comprise the final hour of each radio broadcast. In the past, The Pete Carroll Show was a part of the series. Their programs run when football season is active. When baseball is in season, The Jerry Dipoto Show is also available here.

New episodes of Brock and Salk air weekly from Mondays to Fridays.
