EP 080: How Our Eyes Run Our Biology

EP 080: How Our Eyes Run Our Biology
“Our eyes are hormone-making organs,” says optometrist and integrative health coach Dr. Valerie Giangrande, and for most of us, this is nothing short of a revelation. Starting with the first strains of sunrise, the eyes take in light, send signals to our internal clock to release hormones in their intended order, so that those hormones work toward our ultimate health and healing. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective, Dr. Valerie talks with host Meredith Oke about this fascinating and complex process and how extensively the eyes influence the rest of the body.    In turn, the state of the body is often communicated through the eyes. Dry eyes, for example, can be a symptom of hydration deep at the cellular level. Dr. Valerie explains how contrary to popular belief, it is not too much sunlight but often lack thereof that accounts for common degenerative eye issues such as cataracts.    Unfortunately, so many of us spend all day looking at screens which emit a blue light that signals to the body that it’s perpetually 12:00 pm. When we do go outside, we block light from our eyes by wearing sunglasses and even glasses and contacts. Dr. Valerie reveals what we can do to eliminate daily barriers to sunlight.    Eyes are the windows to the soul and, as it turns out, to the body. Tune in to this eye-opening conversation to learn how you can optimize your daily light intake.    Quotes “We’re not just meant to see with our eyes, we have a lot of cells in our eyes that are actually waiting for specific signals of light.” (8:53 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande)“Just imagine what happens to our bodies when we’re blocking that signal. We’re not making hormones, and it’s controlling the entire body, really. And we can make some of it in our skin but even our skin, most people aren’t exposed to the sun, with our skin, either, but it’s really our eyes that are the connection, it connects our light to our bodies and helps us work. It’s the way we’re designed to be.” (13:37 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande) “What I love about the eyes is that they are a window into the body, in the sense that everything is connected. The eyes are an extension of the skin, they have mucus membranes, there’s nerve tissue, it’s brain tissue, it’s cardiovascular tissue, it’s lymph tissue. It’s everything altogether.” (18:04 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande) “And even if we’re in the shade, we’re still getting the benefit of that sunshine. You don’t need direct—when I say get the sun, I’m not saying stare at the sun…the sun is coming in at an angle and hitting us down here. So staring at it doesn’t work as well as just being outside because it has to hit you on an angle anyway, so that’s how we’re designed, just to be outside.” (38:01 | Dr. Valerie Giangrande)   Links Connect with Dr. Valerie Giangrande: YouTube: Quantum Eye Doc Instagram: @QuantumEyeDoc Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense**   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   For more information about booking with Valerie leave your email here.   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 079: The Impact of Complete Solar Spectrum On Our Bodies

EP 079: The Impact of Complete Solar Spectrum On Our Bodies
“Melatonin is the body’s most effective antioxidant,” declares Scott Zimmerman, who published a groundbreaking paper on subcellular melatonin, which has completely altered our understanding of how the hormone is produced in the body.    As it turns out, melatonin is not solely produced by the pineal gland but in all of our mitochondria. It works to soothe the cortisol that is produced when we engage in nearly any activity, including exercise.    On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Scott dispels common misconceptions including just how deeply different types of light penetrate the body. Our modern indoor environment—from hospitals to homes, windows and screens— prevents us from accessing all of the near-infrared light that we were born to absorb and that is so vital to our health.    This is most especially important for children, Scott says. Due to body size and hormonal activity, they are most affected by light, and will suffer the most if we don’t change our current lifestyles.    Join today’s discussion to learn how nature amplifies our absorption of near-infrared light and why not all blue light is bad.    Quotes “So the body seems to have this kind of yin yang thing going on with the different types of hormones. You want to have the stress hormone response of cortisol to deal with, you know, it shuts down your immune system, it localizes, increases energy production, it does all these good things. But if you keep it up there, then you’ve got a problem. So it appears that the melatonin that's being generated in response to the stressor is greater than, equal to, or greater than the cortisol levels, and it tends to suppress the cortisol and get us back down to calm back down.” (14:15 | Scott Zimmerman) “We've underestimated how the interactions between, you'll see a paper on melatonin, you'll see a paper on cortisol, you'll see a paper on other different hormone levels, but the reality is, is they're working in tandem.” (15:02 | Scott Zimmerman)“For whatever reason, sunlight is lowest on the list. We will come up with every other reason—the food, the exercise, the whatever—but sunlight… I guess everybody thinks they just have a right to it; they just don’t take advantage of it, is the problem. And it is free, it’s pretty easy to take advantage of.” (40:14 | Scott Zimmerman)    Links   Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense** Connect with Scott Zimmerman: Website: Niralighting.com Melatonin Research: https://www.melatonin-research.net/index.php/MR/article/view/19 To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 078: The ICU Doctor Who Prescribes Sunlight As Medicine
May 30 2024
EP 078: The ICU Doctor Who Prescribes Sunlight As Medicine
“Melatonin is the most powerful antioxidant that we know of in the human body—the king of antioxidants,” says today’s guest Dr. Roger Seheult, whose Youtube channel MedCram, helps make complicated medical topics easier to understand. On this episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he breaks down the process by which melatonin mitigates oxidative stress at the mitochondrial level, thus preventing major diseases in the body.    The best way to get melatonin? From infrared light. But it’s more complex than that. Dr. Seheult explains the two very different functions melatonin takes on during the day versus at night, where the body’s greatest concentration of mitochondria lay, and why Vitamin D is just the beginning of what the sun has to offer our bodies.   This last point was raised throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—as well as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918—where light therapies were used to treat patients. Dr. Seheult discusses the pioneering work of John Harvey Kellogg, a study performed in Brazil in which COVID patients were treated with an LED jacket, and the impact of light therapy on COVID patients who were on the brink of being intubated for ventilation.    Dr. Seheult shares his eight pillars of health—which form the acronym NEW START---and how a green environment enhances the absorption of near-infrared light.   Quotes “The sun, and sunlight, gives us much more benefit than just Vitamin D.” (10:00 | Dr. Roger Seheult) “The body’s designed to maximize that light’s effect to get to the area where it’s needed the most, which is the mitochondria.” (29:33 | Dr. Roger Seheult)“How do you prevent oxidative stress at night? By limiting light exposure to the eyes at night. How do you maximize melatonin-mediated protection of the mitochondria during the day? Through the production of melatonin on site in the mitochondria through the pathway of infrared light exposure.” (45:42 | Dr. Roger Seheult)    Links   Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense**   Connect with Dr. Roger Seheult: Website: medcram.com Socials: https://twitter.com/MedCramVideos https://www.instagram.com/medcram/?hl=en https://www.facebook.com/MedCram/   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 077: A Computer That Cares About Your Biology

EP 077: A Computer That Cares About Your Biology
“We blame ourselves when these tools are actually mismatched for us,” says Anjan Katta, founder of the Daylight Computer company, which has made the first computer that is reverse-engineered to be good for us—or at least not harmful to our biology the way current models are. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he explains to host Meredith Oke just how his model works differently, eliminating blue light and flicker.   He explains what happens when a normal laptop flickers, how it disrupts our circadian rhythm and affects our brain in a way that’s similar to motion sickness, though we don’t notice it until it becomes a major problem.    Devices and screens, in their current state, are not only biological mismatches, but psychological ones as well, argues Anjan. He explains how living with ADHD led him to create the Daylight Computer, his plans for similar software and devices, and how technology could be a major tool to promote empathy and understanding.    Join today’s episode to learn how Daylight Computers will teach us how to forgive ourselves and how we can reclaim our sacred spaces.    Quotes “I met the guy who invented the LCD screen… and he said, ‘If you told me that my grandkid would be spending six hours a day looking at one of these, I would have designed it differently.” (5:12 | Anjan Katta) “It’s the humility of saying ‘Let’s not start from Star Trek and Star Wars and from little boy fantasy and make something and then say, ‘Oops! We ruined everybody’s health.’ Let’s start with health. Let’s start with deep, empirical principles of nature. And then if the product is not as fantastical as you need it to be, that’s OK, because at least we didn’t hurt people. We didn’t undermine their integrity and their sovereignty and their core, core being. And then we can try to make fantastical things over time.” (9:42 | Anjan Katta) “We’ve got to stop being so hard on ourselves because, yes, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, yeah it’s going to be hard on itself. And to me, technology should be like, ‘Oh, you’re a fish. Let’s give you a river.’ And that’s kind of what motivated me. I’m a fish. Stop making me feel like an idiot by trying to get me to climb trees. What’s a computer that fits me, that fits a fish, that’s a river?”  (34:18 | Anjan Katta)“We’ve removed all sacred spaces in society, including the bedrooms, by bringing these noisy, impolite, intrusive, bad-for-our-health, addictive portals. And it takes the meaning out of everything because everything is just the same.” (36:54 | Anjan Katta and Meredith One)   Links Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense**   To order a limited beta version of the Daylight tablet, go to: https://daylightcomputer.com Password: DAYLIGHT   Connect with Anjan Katta: https://twitter.com/AnjanKatta https://twitter.com/daylightco Instagram: @daylightco    To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 076: Sun Maxxing And The Reality of Skin Cancer Research
May 16 2024
EP 076: Sun Maxxing And The Reality of Skin Cancer Research
“It turbo charges your vitality. That’s enough to reorganize my whole life around it,” says Steven Lubka, known on X as a “sun max-er,” about his commitment to being outdoors, despite his busy day job working as the head of private clients at Swan Bitcoin. On today’s episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, he explains how you can work the benefits of sunlight and balanced circadian rhythms into your own busy life.   In keeping with his reputation as a prominent citizen researcher, he explains the flaws in the research on skin cancer, and how sun exposure affects basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, respectively. What he shares flies in the face of everything we’ve been taught about wearing sunblock and avoiding the sun, and the people and populations among which melanoma is rising will surprise you.   Sun exposure lowers the risk for so many other, arguably more impactful, diseases that the benefits far outweigh the risks, he argues, as does the day-to-day mental and emotional impact. Hear him talk about the importance of daily movement on health, on our evolution, and why he calls exercise “the junk food of movement.”    Learn Steven’s simple formula for life-changing benefits. And stay tuned to the end for his insights into bitcoin and what’s in store for its future.    Quotes “When I get a lot of sunlight, I feel more vital, I feel more driven, I feel more energy, I feel more solid and robust.” (10:44 | Steven Lubka) “I actually believe that happiness is literally just a function of sunlight. And I like to distinguish happiness, which I consider a mood state, from purpose or meaning or life satisfaction—those are different concepts. I’m not saying just getting sun is going to fulfill all of your psychological needs, but if we define happiness as being in a happy mood or not a happy mood, I think that equation, sunlight’s the primary input. And when I get a lot of sun, I’m in a great mood.” (11:22 | Steven Lubka) “Melanoma, which is the really bad one, here’s what’s interesting: there are a lot of studies that show sunlight lowers it. Melanoma mostly appears on the parts of the body that don’t see the sun. It goes up in indoor workers. It’s skyrocketing in northeast Asian countries that are the most sunphobic cultures.” (38:25 | Steven Lubka)“We were born to walk…Brains evolved to move. That is their base function. You need to move. Having a high level of movement, particularly outdoors, is way more important than going and working up a sweat three times a week in a gym.” (52:45 | Steven Lubka) Links Connect with Steven Lubka: Steven Lubka Website: Swan.com/private Twitter: @Dzambhalahodl   Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses **If you're in the US and have a Health Savings Account (HSA or FSA) BonCharge products are an eligible expense**   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 075: Beyond Biomechanics: The True Nature Of The Human Form
May 9 2024
EP 075: Beyond Biomechanics: The True Nature Of The Human Form
“We are grace incarnate,” says today’s guest, Joanne Avison, movement and manual therapy practitioner and author of “Yoga, Fascia, Anatomy and Movement.” Unfortunately, as Joanne explains that beginning with Rene Descartes, the so-called founder of modern science, we have learned to separate our physical selves from our spiritual selves, when in fact, we’re never decoupled. On this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, the body work community needs to bridge the chasm with updated language that recognizes we are not assembled like machines but formed fully in our earliest days, and continue to grow, or unfold, throughout our lives.    Just as Copernicus once introduced the idea that the sun is the center of the universe, Joanne suggests that our development forms from the heart first. In discussion with host Meredith Oke, she explains that, like stringed instruments, we grow under pressure and emit sound, as well as light and love. Hear her explain why our fascia is like the dark matter we carry around inside of us.    When it comes to treating the body we tend to over-intervene and over-outsource rather than allowing time and space. Join today’s discussion to hear how, through her own injury and illness, Joanne learned to listen to and learn from her body, and discover more about the universe as a result.    Quotes “We have a chasm between the world of the being and the world of the body…we’ve reduced the body down to the biomechanical sum of its anatomical parts, its chemical reactions, of stuff, the chemistry of its stuff, and everything was reduced so that it could be understood.” (10:08 | Joanne Avison)“The word ‘hu’ in ‘human’ comes from an ancient name for the divine. So, human actually means ‘divine man.’”  (14:41 | Joanne Avison) “We are basically heart-centered. And that’s about as popular as Copernicus’ idea that we’re helix-centric.” (20:49 | Joanne Avison) “What we’re learning now is that the entire body is actually variations on the theme of a specialized connective tissue because our baseline is completely connected. And if you talk to John Sharkey at length, he talks about the fascia as the black matter of the form, the inner cosmos. So, black matter to the outer cosmos is fascia to the inner cosmos.” (22:39 | Joanne Avison)“We’re already grace incarnate. That beautiful unicellular version of you has everything it needs to become you. It doesn’t go to school to learn how to be an embryo. There’s not an acorn out there that can spell ‘oak tree.’ Yet, everything needed to form the oak tree is in the acorn.” (27:51 | Joanne Avison) “I think the fascia is a matrix of love, light, and sound in the body. And that’s a scientific statement as well as a spiritual one.” (38:54 | Joanne Avison)“When you come from it as a tissue of love, light, and sound, and you start becoming your own fascia whisperer, you can literally tune into the movement of what I call this ‘magical inner awareness,’ and you learn to see what it’s saying to you, you learn to hear what it’s saying to you.” (58:51 | Joanne Avison)    Links Connect with Joanne Avison: Website joanneavison.com myofascialmagic.com Socials Follow on Instagram & Facebook @joanneavison Joanne Avison's Books: Author of Yoga Fascia Anatomy & Movement Author of Myofascial Magic in Action   Bon Charge Discount Code: at checkout enter the code: QBC to receive 15% off  https://us.boncharge.com/collections/blue-light-blocking-glasses  To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 074: Brilliant Inventors Part II: Portable Phototherapy To Harness Our Body’s Own Light
May 2 2024
EP 074: Brilliant Inventors Part II: Portable Phototherapy To Harness Our Body’s Own Light
“Light therapy is unbelievably powerful and it certainly is the future of medicine,” says David Schmidt, CEO of health and wellness company LifeWave, who joins the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss his X39 patch and its ability to completely change our current approach to anti-aging and, as a result, to fighting disease. Rather than injecting stem cells, exogenous substances or outside sources of light into the system, the patch works with the infrared light which exists inside of the body, communicates with the body’s systems and sets changes in motion. On today’s episode, David explains what separates his products from other forms of phototherapy and how his early work with the military and in cancer research led up to his work today.    Nature and religion have also inspired David’s research. He describes his findings from studies of flatworms, hydras and lobster—species which contain an abundance of stem cells, regenerate lost body parts and, as long as they are protected and properly provided for, are immortal. He also explains his belief that the equivalent of God’s word is written in numeric form in the light frequencies of living species.    In both nature and prayer, we can find the answers to our healing, David says. Join today’s discussion to learn more.    Quotes “I would say the single biggest difference between lifewave and other light therapy devices is that these products use modulated light which have information that can trigger a specific biochemical effect. (16:12 | David Schmidt)“As we age, the body actually emits more light, and this isn’t a good thing because the cells are leaking. And when they’re leaking this light, it interferes with the ability of the cells to be in homeostasis, be in balance. What we found with the energy patches when we did this back in 2008 or 2009, is that it decreases the light emission from the body to improve homeostasis. So, it brings the body back to balance and this is a very powerful anti-aging mechanism.” (21:40 | David Schmidt) “God, the Creator of the Universe, who created everything, put His fingerprint or signature, in numbers, in living species. And we can use that information to create new types of light therapy devices that can potentially stop and reverse human aging, not to mention treatment of disease.” (29:06 | David Schmidt) “The other reason, I think, to do this is to empower people, not just with information but with technology that they can use.” (39:57 | David Schmidt)“We’re not injecting stem cells into the body; what we’re really doing is getting the stem cells that are already in the body to act like younger cells. What happens is that we’re tapping into the communication system that already exists in our bodies.” (48:09 | David Schmidt)   Links To purchase the products discussed in this episode. EP 073: Habit or Addiction: Easing Recovery with Light
Apr 25 2024
EP 073: Habit or Addiction: Easing Recovery with Light
“You can’t get healthy in the environment you got sick in,” says Andeea Rae, licensed addiction counselor, certified in applied Quantum Biology, who joins today’s episode to discuss the nature of addiction, and the bio-psycho-social behavioral changes necessary for recovery. A new environment doesn’t just mean a change of scenery, she explains, it should also refer to the environment that doesn’t get talked about enough—the one full of toxic blue light and non-native EMFs. On today’s episode of the Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Andeea will walk us through the six stages of change in recovery from pre-contemplation to termination as well as the six symptom categories of Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS).    Sleep disturbances, stress sensitivity, and memory problems all overlap with symptoms stemming from poor light protocol. Improving your light environment, in addition to improving overall health can ease these and other symptoms at all stages of recovery, particularly the early ones. Andeea shares her top three simple but most effective changes for people to make in recovery as well as her Number 1 coping mechanism. She’ll also discuss the vibrational component to our emotions and how to quickly kick ourselves up into a higher vibration and remain there.    One of the most important aspects of recovery is community. Join today’s discussion to hear Andeea break down the difference between a habit and an addiction, the myth of wasted time, and the power of an abundance mindset.   Quotes “The quantum space really opened up my touching on the true issues that I might have touched on when I was doing mental health therapy, but I didn’t do deep dives into my belief system, and that part has been really huge for me as well.” (8:56 | Adeea Rae)“Once I learned about emotions being at a certain vibration on a quantum level, I took that very seriously, very, very seriously.” (9:52 | Andeea Rae)“I believe that people, if they address their light environment and really look at this at a mitochondrial level, that some of these symptoms don’t have to last as long as they do.” (42:03 | Andeea Rae)“So this is also speaking to that healing your nervous system and your neurotransmitters. And they simply are not gonna be signaling the pathways that are needed if they are not getting the sunrise in the morning and getting the right light signaling. So when someone is just unaware, they're just simply unaware that blue light's an issue. I mean, I'm talking about light bulbs. We went from talking about very illegal substances to now something that's so simple in our, in our home, a light switch. Right? And so we have to be looking at this.”  (48:21 | Andeea Rae) “I believe one of the biggest things that could actually help someone: getting them to understand that the blue light is actually stimulating the dopamine and it is going to keep the sleep issues going on. It’s going to keep all those PAWS symptoms, just…they’re going to be ongoing.” (49:02 | Andeea Rae)   Links Connect with Andeea Rae: Website https://www.thequantumpages.com/ https://www.andeearae.com/ (upcoming courses)   Socials https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/quantum-recovery/id1735320852 https://www.instagram.com/andeearae/ https://www.instagram.com/quantumpages/ https://www.tiktok.com/@andeearaellc https://www.facebook.com/andeearae/ https://twitter.com/Andeearae   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 072: Coherence, Resilience And The Role of Pain In Our Lives
Apr 18 2024
EP 072: Coherence, Resilience And The Role of Pain In Our Lives
“Pain is in the brain,” explains Stephen Hussey, doctor of chiropractic and practitioner of functional medicine who returns to the podcast to discuss the way the body interprets, processes and manages pain. In addition to the sensory components of pain, there are cognitive and emotional receptors, as well, which means physical pain is affected by mental and physical stress and vice versa. With enough trauma, the body begins to develop incoherence—which is when body systems are out of sync and unable to communicate. On this episode, Dr. Hussey discusses how we can build coherence and the connection between regulated pain signals and a properly charged system.    A large part of pain management is the attitude we take toward it. Dr. Hussey will explain why we develop chronic pain even long after our injuries have supposedly been resolved, why opioids fail us, and what’s really behind the addiction to them.   Join today’s discussion to hear more about how pain starts, how it evolves and how we can build a resilience to it.    Quotes: “You could have an emotional experience that’s very painful, and we describe it that way. And it’s because of these connections between the cognitive area and the emotional areas. Because cognitive, we’re thinking about this thing that happened to us and how terrible it is, and we have an emotional response to it and we describe that as painful. And sometimes it actually can result in physical pain because, again, we’re training it backwards.” (14:38 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)“This thing that happened to you—while it’s happening, the amount of communication between the prefrontal cortex and the emotional centers dictates whether or not that pain will become chronic once it’s resolved, or once the injury has resolved, or once the emotional trauma has—quote, unquote—resolved. Once those things have been over and done with, if you, during that time, trained your brain to communicate—the emotional and cognitive centers of the brain—you will have chronic pain, but if you didn’t, you very likely won’t have chronic pain.” (27:01 | Dr. Stephen Hussey) “That’s what we should be focusing on in pain, is how to change the brain. Not just block a pain signal, but how do we change the brain.” (55:22 | Dr. Stephen Hussey)   Links Connect with Dr. Stephen Hussey: Website: www.resourceyourhealth.com Socials: https://www.instagram.com/drstephenhussey/ https://www.facebook.com/DrStephenHussey/ Book "Understanding The Heart: Surprising Insights Into The Evolutionary Origins Of Heart Disease – And Why It Matters www.amazon.com/Understanding-Heart-Surprising-Evolutionary-Disease-ebook/dp/B09WVT95Q9/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=   QBC Podcast #18: How Light  Helps Our Hearts with Dr Stephen Hussey https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000607675889 To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Shull, circadian optimized decision expert. “Once you learn there’s an emotional logic to everything, you can sail around your mind and your life in a much more expansive way.” Unfortunately, popular thought still tells us to remove emotions from decision-making and to suppress our fears in order to move forward. On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Denise explains that talking yourself out of your fear only makes it grow stronger, and acknowledging what we feel, why we feel that way and getting to the bottom of our worst-case scenarios is how we make our best decisions.   So how can we use these decision-making strategies to help us navigate this new landscape where, increasingly, we are increasingly called upon to be our own health advocates? Denise reveals the three questions she recommends people ask themselves when making health decisions. She’ll share her thoughts on the state of the current medical system and how people’s early experiences shape their relationship and response to authority.    Denise’s coaching has helped everyone from hedge funders to Olympic skiers to succeed. Join today’s discussion to learn how the body reacts to unacknowledged fear and why the most emotional people make the most money in the stock market.    Quotes: “Our brains were programmed to keep us safe. And the way that is communicated to us is through a feeling. So, if we’re going to take a risk, the brain is going to deliver us some level of fear—maybe you would just call it concern, maybe you would call it panic, there are a bunch of levels in between—but the brain is going to do that.” (24:54 | Denise K. Shull) “There’s this articulating the feeling and being able to have the feeling that, if it doesn’t completely erase it—and it doesn’t always completely erase it—it neutralize it or dissipates it to some degree that then you’re able to bring into the equation the more reality of the situation.” (26:34 | Denise K. Shull)“Our unconscious is going to alert us to our biggest risk. That’s it’s job. To make sure we use our expertise to avoid that, but it wants us to know, ‘Worst possible case, this thing could happen.’ And then once you consciously acknowledge that, it’s like, ‘OK, got that message to Meredith’s conscious mind. She can handle it now.’ So, when you try to squash that, it actually gets louder, more intense, more disruptive.” (41:02 | Denise K. Shull) “All of us have something to contribute to the world. When you honor yourself by respecting your feelings, your ability to bring whatever your gift is to the world increases.” (1:03:12 | Denise K. Shull)   Links Connect with Denise K. EP 070: Are You Electro-Sensitive? The Invisible Frequencies Bombarding Our Biology & What To Do About It
Apr 4 2024
EP 070: Are You Electro-Sensitive? The Invisible Frequencies Bombarding Our Biology & What To Do About It
“Think of radio frequency radiation as just a sort of invisible light,” says today’s guest Nick Pineault, author of the best-selling book “The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs.”   Just as the toxic light emitted from our laptops and cellphones are disrupting our biology at the mitochondrial level, the WiFi connecting us to those same devices sends out electromagnetic field (EMF) frequencies that send similarly confusing messages to our cells, many of which travel even deeper than light.    On today’s episode of The Quantum Biology Collective podcast, Nick explains the damaging effects of this radiation from inhibiting the body’s ability to produce energy to ultimately diseases like cancer. For those with heightened electro-sensitivity, it only takes a fraction of the exposure most of us experience on a daily basis.   Luckily, there are many steps we can take to mitigate and reduce our exposure.  Join the discussion to learn how you can shield your home, workspace, and body from harm.    Quotes: “You have voltage going around you in the form of WiFi and it’s completely random, it’s at frequencies that have never been seen before and then the intensities vary in time, and the pulsation is all over the place. So, these signals are completely foreign to the body.” (10:23 | Nick Pineault) “Our electrical environment now is ever-changing by the second, so we never fully adapt. And I think that’s part of the problem of why it’s so pernicious and why we’re seeing effects that are short and long term. It becomes almost like a weight that people carry on their shoulders. If you live in a city, or you’re always exposed to your devices, maybe it’s fine for a certain period of time but now it’s been decades that we’ve been exposed to this wireless.” (14:48 | Nick Pineault) “So you had a technology executive get appointed to head the body that’s meant to keep us safe from technology companies. Yes, all of the top directors are industry people, ex-executives at Verizon and these top wireless companies, or who represent the [Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association] CTIA, which is the front group, the lobbying group for the industry. So the conflict of interest—it’s not even a conflict of interest, it’s complete capture by the agency.” (29:37 | Meredith Oke and Nick Pineault) “All we can do is try to minimize exposure as much as we can. That would be the message. And if it means you start with one action step, that’s good enough, but over time you get better.” (48:33| Nick Pineault)“Think about the fact that certain of your body parts can also perceive that radio frequency radiation as light.” (56:42 | Nick Pineault)   Links EMF Hazards Summit 2024: The Hidden Epidemic of Electro-Sensitivity: Starts April 11 Register here: https://NGMdiainc.ontralink.com/t?orid=153258&opid=18   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 069: Brilliant Inventors #1: Sound As The Origin Of Light and Life?
Mar 28 2024
EP 069: Brilliant Inventors #1: Sound As The Origin Of Light and Life?
Music medicine and the healing power of sound are concepts which date back as far as Ancient Greece, having been first attributed to Pythagoras. John Stuart Reid’s first encounter with sound healing took place in the King’s Chamber in the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, where he ran an experiment in cymatics which, he explains, is the basic principle that sound—which is omnipresent—makes an acoustic impression upon any membrane it encounters—such as those in the countless cells which comprise our bodies. His invention, the cymascope, which makes visible the different patterns that various sounds make on cells, has the power to revolutionize our approach to healing–and even to help eliminate cancer.    John, a sound engineer turned acoustic physics scientist, reveals how sound promotes oxygenation in the body, its effect on the Vagus nerve and how it can help eliminate chronic inflammation in the body and slow the aging process.    He’ll explain how music affects the cells, why, contrary to popular belief, pop music is more healing than classical music, and which make and model of headphones provide the most beneficial listening experience.   Quotes: “This is one of the reasons why sound therapy and music medicine—which, you know I love to talk about those subjects as well—it’s one of the reasons why they are so efficacious when it comes to catalyzing or stimulating the body’s innate healing response. Sound comes into your body, it penetrates your body, and literally creates cymatic patterns on every cell in your body that has a membrane.” (10:40 | John Stuart Reid) “Imagine: as we’re immersed in a musical environment, those beautiful, harmonious sounds are now literally organizing the countless water molecules in your body into great beauty. And again, this has medical implications. It’s not just pretty patterns or pretty organization; there are medical benefits to this.”  (20:35 | John Stuart Reid“Imagine now a rhythmic pulsation coming up through the bed, and not from one spot but rhythmically moving up and down the body, in a very beautiful, pulsating, rhythmic way. And that would be actually soothing to the patient, and not only would it help the oxygenation levels of the patient—and by the way, oxygen is the key ingredient in the body for all—well—almost all of the healing mechanisms of the body are powered by oxygen. So, if there’s more oxygen available to the patient, then of course it’s going to speed their recovery from hospital.” (42:33 | John Stuart Reid) “It’s a poetic thought, but it’s also very real from a scientific viewpoint, that if you sing to the stars, you will literally be sending your song to the stars. And the reverse is also true: the stars are singing to us.” (100:18 | John Stuart Reid)   Links Connect with John Stuart Reid: John's Research Institute: https://cymascope.com/ To Make a Donation to Cymatics Research: https://cymascope.com/donate/   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 068: How Light And Movement Shape Our Brains
Mar 21 2024
EP 068: How Light And Movement Shape Our Brains
“If you address the inputs, the outputs address themselves,” says Dr. Amanda Steencken, who joins The Quantum Biology Podcast to discuss her work with primitive reflex integration work. Primitive reflexes, she explains, are the body’s involuntary movements, which occur down to the subatomic level, in response to stimuli that promote brain development and keep us safe in the world.    When this connection is never stimulated, or gets turned off for myriad reasons, the results are anything from fallen arches in the foot, to chronic pain, to anxiety and learning disabilities. The particular form of rhythmic movement training that Amanda practices imitates and recapitulates the movements done during development in utero, thus stimulating the brain connection.    After getting her PhD in neuroscience and later studying naturopathy, Dr. Amanda discovered primitive reflex integration work, while looking for treatment for her own family The changes she has seen and experienced from it, combined with light optimization and balanced circadian rhythm, have been so remarkable as to lead her to place movement above nutrition and even oxygen in terms of vitality and importance to healing and optimal health.    This practice is also beneficial for those stuck in fight/flight/freeze/fawn responses of their sympathetic nervous system. As rhythmic movement recreates the activity of our safest environment, it also shines a light on the importance of moving past fear to move toward healing.    Join today’s podcast to learn how less is more, why healing is never pretty, but the smallest adjustments can yield the biggest results.    Quotes “Food is important, but I’m at the point where I really strongly believe it is not the most important thing. Until you fix the light and until you become more aware of how to nourish your body water and your mitochondria, it doesn’t matter how keto you go, or how organic you eat, or how little junk food you have.” (17:27 | Dr. Amanda Steencken)“It boggles the mind how simple it is, and yet how dependent we’ve become. I mean, this is how I work now: I need the computer, I need the phone, I need the internet. I think that’s the truth for most of us, so we have to be even more diligent about the light breaks and the morning routine habit and all the little ways in which we can support our systems because we’re completely bombarded all the time with toxins.” (22:17 | Dr. Amanda Steencken)“When we teach these gentle rhythmic movements, we’re reminding that nervous system of something that it already knows. And the beautiful thing about what I just said is that we’re telling the nervous system something that it knows and therefore it can feel safe. We’re recreating the safety cocoon that we started our life out on earth in.” (53:38 | Dr. Amanda Steencken) “If you address your inputs, the outputs address themselves.” (105:21 | Dr. Amanda Steencken)    Links Connect with Amanda Steencken: Amanda's Website: https://horaioswellness.com/index.html Book A Discovery Call with Amanda: https://calendly.com/horaioswellness/complimentary-discovery-conversation-video?month=2024-03 Sara Pugh's Quantum Ketosis Course: https://www.appliedquantumbiology.com/ketosis   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification for Practitiners: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 067: Light Optimization As A Lifestyle

EP 067: Light Optimization As A Lifestyle
“You’re just going to have to live with it.” This is the response, says today’s guest Thomas Van Doorn, medical professionals give to the nearly 11 million citizens suffering from chronic disease in his native Netherlands. This was the advice given to Thomas’s disabled sister, before he began to incorporate elements of quantum biology into her treatment.  Thankfully, she began enjoying remarkable results.    While a tennis player at the national level, Thomas was looking to develop a protocol that would prevent injury and enhance performance, and the usual course of supplements, diet and physical therapy weren’t working. He began devouring the works of Dr. Jack Kruse and became convinced that, as photoelectric beings, like everything else in nature, our healing starts at the atomic level.    Soon, he formed a clinic with like minded individuals from Dr. Kruse’s community. There, clients are guided through a 6-week light-optimization sequence, the foundation of which is regulating the circadian rhythm. Instead of medication or supplements, the clinic practices root cause medicine, and the results have been remarkable.    Thomas and host Meredith Oke both agree that you don’t have to be a scientist to begin to master quantum biology concepts. Join this episode of The Quantum Biology Podcast as he compares modern medicine to auto repair and why he isn’t ready to let Andrew Huberman off the hook.    Quotes “We always joke it was like a lightbulb switched on in your head, ‘OK, wow. This is an explanation I’ve never had before when it comes to the root cause of, let’s say, life, and at least ourselves and how it’s working and how the environment is interacting with our inner biology.” (4:41 | Thomas Van Doorn) “That’s why I made the decision, OK, I don’t want to be in the supplement industry, the food industry, the physical therapy industry. I want to be in the quantum biology industry because it helped so much. And I came in more and more contact with other people on the forum for Jack Kruse who have healed skin diseases, or colon diseases, or any number of problems.” (9:42 | Thomas Van Doorn)“Basically, quantum mechanics, in science, we agree, it starts there. Let’s call it ‘the ground floor,’ and everything builds up. Why are we not looking like that when it comes to problems? Not only healthcare problems—of course, my main focus was healthcare problems—but just problems, in general. Why are we not, altogether, looking from that perspective and moving forward instead of almost moving backwards from the end of the problem, the symptom in this case, and trying to move backward. It felt so unnatural.” (13:52 | Thomas Van Doorn) “That’s also something that I like about, let’s say, root cause when it comes to science or particles or atoms, or whatever. They will work for everybody. It doesn’t matter what genes, how old, which country—yeah, there are some nuances in it—but, it will work for everybody.” (16:02 | Thomas Van Doorn) Links Connect with Thomas Van Doorn: Clinic Website: www.yourhealthconcept.nl Instagram: @yourhealthconcept  To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollective Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 066: Light & Digestion: How Regulated Circadian Rhythms Heal The Gut
Mar 7 2024
EP 066: Light & Digestion: How Regulated Circadian Rhythms Heal The Gut
“We are in a perpetual state of jet lag these days, simply because we don’t know what time of day it is.”   Carrie Bennett returns to the Quantum Biology Collective Podcast to discuss the importance of regulating circadian rhythms as a means to healing the gut. Every task in the body is timed to a vibrating central oscillator which acts like an internal metronome. When these vibrations are thrown into chaos–when we don’t get enough natural light, when we are exposed to our screens first thing in the morning and well past sunset—these systems are dysregulated resulting in inflammation.   While current protocol focuses on food and supplements, food is about more than providing nutrients. It’s meant to deliver information to the gut microbiome and the mitochondria about the time of year in our immediate environment. By eating out of season, we further confuse our systems and further inflame the gut.    Through sufficient light exposure, Carrie has witnessed even the most extreme cases of IBS and other gut-based issues healed within very short periods of time. She describes the way she lets in the good light and keeps out the bad light throughout her typical day. She explains the importance of blue-blocking glasses, a calm parasympathetic nervous system, and why saying a prayer of gratitude before eating is a practice rooted in science.    If you’ve tried all the other methods and have yet to restore your gut health, join today’s conversation. Carrie will explain the importance of grounding, of getting sunlight on your abdomen and just how important melatonin is to healing.  Quotes: “Food is two things in my opinion: Food is nutrients. Certainly, we need nutrients. There are building blocks and vitamins and minerals and co-factors and phyo-enzymes and nutrients that we need to support our overall health. So, that’s great, we do need nutrients. But, we also have to recognize that food is information about our environment.” (12:55 | Carrie Bennett)“The only way that the gut can actually heal and regenerate a new lining is when it knows that it’s darkness. That is when tissue regeneration and cell division turns on. So, at night, the brain has to recognize darkness to literally signal tissue regeneration in the gut. And if it doesn’t, that night, that gut’s not getting repaired.” (20:55 | Carrie Bennett) “Those electrons from the earth act as antioxidants. They are nature’s perfect antioxidants because they go anywhere they’re needed and they can immediately start to calm these inflammatory cascades.” (38:55 | Carrie Bennett)   Links Connect with Carrie Bennett: Follow Carrie on IG: @carriebwellness To join Carrie's Circadian Spring Reset Challenge: https://www.carriebwellness.com/2024-spring-challenge Carrie's Gut Healing Webinar: https://www.carriebwellness.com/a/2147532122/Yy9ZsjZN   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 065: Voltage & Anxiety: Why Light Is Key To Mental Health
Feb 29 2024
EP 065: Voltage & Anxiety: Why Light Is Key To Mental Health
“We are electric beings,” says Dr. Kelli Ritter, and she’s not just speaking metaphorically. Returning to The Quantum Biology Collective Podcast to discuss the link between light and anxiety, Dr. Kelli explains that the infrared light that our mitochondria make inside of us is the ultimate healer, and that light is informed by the natural light we take in. “I don’t think there’s anything more important to health.”   The structured water in our body is like a battery that is charged by natural light. When it comes to stress and anxiety, running on a consistently low voltage—as so many of us do—means that the signals and input that the brain and body pass back and forth become weak and glitchy. This lack of clear signal leads to chronic low-grade anxiety, which eventually becomes system burnout in the form of panic attack or depression.    That same low voltage means that the body is too fatigued to fight and that all the other health and healing elements which we incorporate into our practice–nutrition, exercise–don’t work as well as they should. It’s all lost energy.   Dr. Kelli, who herself has experienced the same stress and anxiety that so many of us do, tried many of those healing strategies herself and with her patients. She always knew there was something missing, but not until she limited her blue light and became more in tune with her natural environment and her circadian rhythm did she begin to see major changes. She describes a transformation that was not just mental—clarity, groundedness, resilience– but spiritual, coming into total alignment with herself, an undeniable feeling of coming home.   Now that we know that the roadmap to our mental health lay within each of us, we can begin to make these changes, too. She describes the ideal lifestyle to support being sufficiently charged, even if it means starting small. Light informs life. Light shapes life. We are light inside and out.    Quotes: “When you’re trying all these different things to heal and you’re working on your nutrition and you’re doing all the things that people tell you to do. That’s great, I think that’s helpful, but it’s never going to fix your voltage. Some of it might, by accident, do some helping of your mitochondria. But what I’m talking about is supporting the mitochondria so that we make the water and the energy, but particularly that water that becomes the battery and that is your body. And if it is depleted, then you are going to have symptoms. That’s what your body is going to say to you, ‘Hey, I don’t have the inputs that I need. You’re spending more than we’re making. And so that’s what I mean by low voltage. (3:34 | Dr. Kelli Ritter) “Some of the [treatments] are even wasting more energy or taking as opposed to actually putting more in. So you do these extreme things and you’re trying to do the exercising and the cold plunging and all the cool things that all the cool kids are doing, and it’s actually putting more stress, which could be good if you were actually to a place where you’ve nourished your nervous system, your mitochondria, your hormones are optimized and now you’re using those as tools to help you.” (7:42 | Dr. Kelli Ritter)“The light inside of us is influenced by the light outside of us.”  (9:46 | Dr. Kelli Ritter) “Once you start healing, and your nervous system starts to feel safer and you have more safety signaling going on, then old stuff will come up. Grief, stuff. Also what comes up is good. Realizing how much more connected you are to your natural environment. For me, it feels like I am more connected and aligned to my soul than ever before.” (25:39 | Dr. Kelli Ritter)   Links Connect with Kelli Ritter: Dr Kelli's Quantum Stress Management: 21 Reset: https://www.nourished-soul.com/quantum-stress-management-course Consult With Dr Kelli: https://www.nourished-soul.com/consults Nourished Soul Podcast Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/kbritter/featured To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 064: The Incredible Quantum Story Of Our Eyes And Mouth
Feb 22 2024
EP 064: The Incredible Quantum Story Of Our Eyes And Mouth
How often does your dentist ask you how much blue light you consume each day, about your sleeping patterns, or even how long you were breastfed or if you fell on your tailbone when you were a child? These are just a few of the questions that Dr. Jalal Khan asks his patients during assessment, in his efforts to take dentistry well past “filling and drilling” to act as gateway to major healing in all areas of the body.    A holistic dentist who regards himself more as an osteopath, Dr. Khan has absorbed the teachings of Dr. Jack Kruse and the late Sydney-based dentist Dr. Tony Ancell. Essentially, quantum dentistry dictates that changes in the mouth can have nonlinear effects throughout the body because the position of the teeth affects the arrangement of the cranial bones, which affect our overall structural alignment.    And the mechanical element is only part of the story. Dr. Khan explains that within our retinae which contain the colors green, blue and red, we each are dominant in one, and secondary and tertiary in the other two, respectively. This color dominance helps determine our best diet and exercise practices and even personality traits, further helping to create nuanced, individualized healing and care versus a one-size-fits-all approach.    Dr. Khan discusses the device he has helped to develop which, specified according to each individual mouth, activates specific teeth which then activate the bones in the head which releases the cerebral spinal fluid that he believes is the source of all healing. He describes clients he’s treated, alongside his colleague, a manual therapist, who have reported remarkable results for issues from depression to infertility.    With his practice Dr. Khan is helping to drag dentistry out of “the Dark Ages.” Join this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective to learn how he plans to raise a generation of “quantum kids,” and why the circadian rhythms are the bedrock of all chronic disease in modern society–at least at the biophysical level.   Quotes: “The role that the mouth has in the way that the cranial bones move, that, for me, has been the superpower of the mouth.” (16:52 | Dr. Khan) “I see myself as an osteopath. I’m just working on cranial bones that are at the front of the face. I’m less of a dentist and more of an osteopath. And dentistry, I’ll go as far as to say is in the Dark Ages. We’re still practicing some really archaic type of work. Even the well-intentioned functional dentists, I’ve seen some of their work because the children come to see me afterwards, and it’s horrendous.” (26:21 | Dr. Khan) “It breaks my heart, and that’s why I’m so vocal about this. I know the dentists aren’t going to listen to me, but I know the mothers and the fathers are going to listen to me. And I know the manual therapists are going to listen to me because the osteos and the chiros are looking for dentists that get it. There are a lot of osteos and chiros that know that there’s something to do with the mouth. They don’t know what it is, they just know that there’s something in the mouth that could be upsetting the rest of the body, and they don’t know who to send their patients to.” (27:08 | Dr. Khan) “This is where I get all metaphysical and woo-woo, I believe the cerebro-spinal fluid is the seat of the soul. I believe that’s where the soul resides, where the body’s natural intelligence resides, the body’s ability to heal resides inside the cerebro-spinal fluid.”  (35:11 | Dr. Khan)   Links Connect with Dr. Jalal Khan: Social Media: @k2calibre Dr Khan's Website: sydneyairwayclinic.com.au   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 063: Why Light Matters So Much
Feb 15 2024
EP 063: Why Light Matters So Much
“Our biology–and all of the other animals and creatures on the planet, everything–is geared to the wavelengths of the sun,” says Dr. Sara Pugh, PhD, who returns to the Quantum Biology Collective podcast to discuss the vital importance of daily exposure to natural light.   Dr. Sara breaks down a complicated process into a series of dynamic metaphors. The sun is like a major clock to which everything in nature is attuned, and it sends information down to the mitochondria. The eyes, the biggest clock of the body, take in the information and pass it down to a series of smaller and smaller body clocks–like Russian nesting dolls–all of which are responsible for everything from making neurotransmitters, hormones, burning energy as fat or glucose. When we don’t get the right light at the right time and our circadian rhythm is thrown off, it’s like an airport—a few missed flights throw the entire operation off. The resulting chaos is what we know as inflammation.    All of our electrons are identical, Dr. Sara goes on to explain, until light hits them and imbues them with their own unique purpose. Similarly, as much as we all need the sun, the way we process the sun–or lack thereof–manifests differently for each individual. Dr. Sara and Meredith discuss similar experiences in which they both were exposed to artificial blue light into the wee hours of the morning for prolonged periods of time, and the very different illnesses that they developed as a result.   There are no substitutes for natural light–which includes the light that gets through cloud cover and that is reflected by the moon. Neither supplements nor infrared  lamps, the latter of which offers a very limited spectrum. Even the healthiest foods are much less effective when they are not receiving their corresponding information from the sun as taken in through the body.    We are moving away from an era which focused solely on biochemistry as the root of all ills and processes into a new age of quantum biology and the effect of natural light–and lack thereof—on all of our systems. Sara describes how the learning curve affects research funding and the memorable mistake she made when following what was then the most up-to-date advice on light therapy.   Join Dr. Sara Pugh and Meredith as they discuss the small steps we can take, even when indoors to get more natural light. They also talk about the effect of proper light exposure on preventing illnesses including obesity, cancer and depression.   Quotes: “The biochemistry that goes on inside us is so dependent on the light we get from the outside. So whether it's in our eyes, on our skin, because we need to get the light information to the mitochondria and to other parts of the brain or the body, so that all of the clocks in the body and the organs and everything know exactly what time they should be performing their processes.” (6:06 | Dr. Sara Pugh) “The more in sync and more in time the clocks are, the better your life span, and the better your health span, and it limits so many possible conditions that are related to bad timing in cells. You could basically pin pretty much every disease or condition—cancer is a really good example of bad timing in cells, but so is obesity.” (15:25 | Dr. Sara Pugh) “Everything in the body, in some way, is part of this light orchestra and we’re only starting to understand it now.”  (27:46 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“That’s the whole problem with life. We can have all these lenses to look through things, and the lens is nearly right but not quite. So, we create dogmas and the biochemistry dogma because we’re only looking at it through a biochemistry lens. It’s no one’s fault.” (29:23 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“With light, it’s lots and lots of little packets, like trillions of bullets coming even though it looks like a big–whoosh! Light has wave and particle dualities, so it can get through even a really small crack and obviously it can reflect around wherever it’s ended up, it bounces off things. So, just opening the window is brilliant.”(37:39 | Dr. Sara Pugh)“The most lovely thing as you say, if I’ve got absolutely no idea what I’m supposed to do about something, I can just go outside and make it all better. I know British people will say, ‘Oh, just have a cup of tea,’ and everything will be better. But definitely, as you said, we’ve got this wonderful resource outside that’s free that we can access and there are so many wonderful things that it does.” (40:33 | Dr. Sara Pugh) Links Connect with Sara Pugh, PhD: Sara on YouTube, Instagram & TikTok: @busysuperhuman Sara's Light 101 Course: https://get.busysuperhuman.com/quantum-foundations-1   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 062: What’s Your Human Design? Understanding All The Parts of Ourselves

EP 062: What’s Your Human Design? Understanding All The Parts of Ourselves
“When people get to settle into their natural rhythm versus forcing themselves to be what they’ve been conditioned to be or what society tells us we need to be, then there’s infinite freedom,” says Gwen Dittmar, who specializes in Quantum Human Design. This practice, originally founded by Rah Uber Hu, draws from Vedic astrology, quantum physics, the Hindu chakra system, as well as elements of Kabbalah and of the Chinese I Ching.    We are all composed of nine energy centers in different configurations which determine the unique way in which we all download information from the divine and how that information assimilates inside of us. Our “authorities” help us best make decisions, while our “strategies” help to determine how we are best to engage in life. Our “profile number” has to do with our personalities, our purpose and our ideal experience.    Gwen practices a form of quantum design introduced by Karen Curry Parker, which is built upon Ra Uru Hu’s work and considers us co-creators along with our chart, able to tap into different frequencies that may not necessarily be printed there.    Gwen walks Meredith through her own quantum design chart, explaining how it affects everything from her ideal method of manifesting to the way she digests food. As humans have evolved so have–and will–the elements of quantum design. Gwen explains the “split” she believes humanity will experience in our lifetime, one which will explain all of the transitions the world has been experiencing lately.    Quantum human design helps us to better understand ourselves, our unique way of being in the world, and how we can tap into our highest potential. It gives us the opportunity to develop more compassion for others, allowing us to celebrate what they bring to the table, and determine how to best work together for a common good.    Quotes: “I call it an ‘activation’ because there’s something–a frequency, quantum, a transmission–that activates inside of you, and your body responds to it like, ‘Oh, right! That’s the incarnation! That’s the truth and the essence of who I really am. Let’s learn more about that.” (8:53 | Gwen Dittmar)“As long as we’re open and we’re willing and we’re curious to either be accurate in what we thought or inaccurate and to learn something new and open to something new, I think skepticism and doubt are beautiful.” (12:07 | Gwen Dittmar)“A lot of people feel like, ‘Wow, there’s nothing wrong with me. This is the frequency and the essence that my soul chose to incarnate and to experience in this lifetime. So, how can I learn to be with that?’” (22:49 | Gwen Dittmar)“We know from our primal ancestors that if there was fear of a bush or a berry, it was important to follow that and be connected to that and to not eat that berry. For your survival. That was instinct. But then we evolved as a species. Yes, that’s very important. We need that for time, for safety, for instinct, for that primal knowing. But we’re also starting to evolve and we’re starting to have feelings of, ‘OK, I have fear, but is it really because I’m on the edge of a cliff or is there fear because there’s something that I want to embark on and I’m scared to do it.” (27:37 | Gwen Dittmar)“Yes, it’s important to know how you feel but also not to be consumed by how you feel. Because it’s just information, it’s not a whole experience.” (29:53 | Gwen Dittmar)“And what’s so cool is that, in Human Design, there’s also very specific information for each person about how they’re supposed to eat, when they’re supposed to eat, what types of food they’re supposed to eat, what’s really important for them while they’re eating.” (46:31 | Gwen Dittmar)“When people get to settle into their natural rhythm versus forcing themselves to be what they’ve been conditioned to be or what society tells us we need to be, then there’s infinite freedom. You get to just be you and operate in the world. And also you operate and honor other people for who they are, and they don’t have to be like you.” (52:07 | Gwen Dittmar)    Links Connect with Gwen Dittmar: Work with Gwen: https://www.gwendittmar.com/work-with-me Instagram: @@gwendittmar   To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
EP 061: The Infrared Deficiency Epidemic & Effective Red Light Therapy with Kelly Bento

EP 061: The Infrared Deficiency Epidemic & Effective Red Light Therapy with Kelly Bento
“Super simply, it’s everything for everyone,” says Kelly Bento about the power of infrared light therapy to heal the body and promote wellness by infusing your cells with direct energy. A clinician, Kelly regularly used lasers on her dental patients, and became even more invested in them after her brother sustained a brain injury. Soon she developed her own red light therapy products, Soleil Well.    Red light makes up 42% of the sun’s light that is meant to hit us all day, every day. Since all of us living in the modern world are drastically deficient in natural light, the photobiomodulation that red light therapy acts as an adjunct therapy. Your cells recognize and know exactly what to do with that light, providing the cleanest, quickest and most efficient form of energy.    The benefits are immediate, promoting everything from increased circulation of blood to the brain, improved lymphatic flow to stem cell stimulation. Despite all of these benefits, many still believe that infrared benefits are merely skindeep. Kelly answers these criticisms, explaining how her products–which include panels and a torch—work and the best time to use them.    She also shares the story of a client who is one of the world’s longest-living survivors of childhood diabetes, and as a result had a serious and persistent issue that no other therapy could seem to alleviate. The results provided by infrared therapy and the relief it provided were nothing short of remarkable.    As a clinician first and a businesswoman second, Kelly goes above and beyond to assure the quality of her products. She and Meredith warn of what many manufacturers do–and don’t do–and what to look for from your products.    Quotes: “When you shine light on the body, amazing things happen within the mitochondria. So it is the cleanest, most efficient, most direct form of energy that your body fully recognizes and fully knows what to do with.” (7:42 | Kelly Bento)“Light is the software that runs the hardware of the human body. Light is the program that runs it all.” (9:51 | Kelly Bento) “Blue light starts to have a crescendo affect—-there’s a little when the sun rises, then it starts to peak, then it starts to fall, so there’s supposed to be limited amount of blue light at different times of day—red is 42% of all sunlight all day, every day. Red are, in my opinion, from a human biology standpoint, the most important wavelengths and we are so profoundly deficient in what our body needs for everything to run smoothly, efficiently, and in the most healthy, energized manner.” (17:43 | Kelly Bento)“To understand the deficiency, and how little light we’re getting and how much light we need, makes the case for adding in a modality like this. Honestly, we’re so lucky that this technology exists because, moving forward, as our environment continues to change and becomes less and less biologically positive, using technology like this, you’re able to add in more benefit.” (27:08 | Kelly Bento) “I’m not a product person. I’m a clinician. What is best for my patients? How will I be able to best serve my patient, and my family and my loved ones and my friends? And so here I am. I never thought in my mid-50s I’d be launching a business, but here I am.” (101:04 | Kelly Bento)   Links Connect with Kelly Bento: Kelly's red light devices: Soleilwell.com Socials: @soleilwell @thequantummon  Episodes mentioned in the intro: #47 Circadian Friendly Lighting: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000632678937 #49 Therapeutic SAD Light: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000634243131 #52 Red Light for Horses & Dogs: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-quantum-biology-collective-podcast/id1657777911?i=1000637027639 Link to Ken's Solshine SAD light: https://solshine.org/collections/solshine-photo-nutrition/products/sol-photovites?ref=IBeGSWsWauJZg To receive a FREE infographic of the Ideal Circadian Day & join our email list: https://www.quantumbiologycollective.com/qbc-newsletter-aqb To find a practitioner who understands quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org To see details about the Applied Quantum Certification: www.appliedquantumbiology.com Follow on Instagram & Facebook: @quantumbiologycollecitve Twitter: @quantumhealthtv   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
