Joyce Vance began her legal career in the 1980s as a private practice litigator. She worked in the criminal division of the US Attorney's office. She is a law school professor at the University of Alabama. Kim Atkins Stohr started as a trial and appellate litigation attorney in Boston. She currently works at The Boston Globe as a senior opinion writer.
